‘Bringing Up Bates’ Star Courting? Nathan Photographed With Female Missionary Friend Dishing Out Side-Hugs
While many were speculating that Bringing Up Bates star Lawson Bates may be courting Jinger Duggar, it seems that another Bates boy was busy finding a girl of his own. Nathan Bates has been photographed hanging out, chaperone nearby, of course, with Ashley Salyer, a culinary student in New York. The pair met while in the mission field and have remained close. However, in recent photos, the two appear to be courting, as there is definitely lots of side-hugs going on. In addition to the photographic proof, the official Bates Family Blog also hints at a new courtship and notes that there are “lots of surprises ahead!”
The Bates Family Blog recently posted an update to their website, noting that there are “lots of surprises ahead” for Bates fans. The post points out that when Season 2 of Bringing Up Bates ended, “there were no other Bates courtships in the works.” By pointing this out, the Bates family is implying that there are some new ones in the works that will be featured in the upcoming season.
“On the season two finale, we watched the entire family vacation in Dollywood. At that point, Carson and Allie were still newborns, Michaela and Brandon were not yet married, and there were no other Bates courtships in the works. The upcoming season of Bringing Up Bates is sure to be filled with lots of surprises and new footage. “
So, who is the lucky Bates that may have found their future wife or husband? Though there has been a lot of media attention on the rumor that Lawson Bates may be courting Jinger Duggar, it seems that there is an even more likely candidate for a courtship in Season 3 of Bringing Up Bates. Nathan Bates has been spotted in numerous photographs giving the conservative family’s traditional side-hug to a culinary student in New York. Nathan Bates met Ashley Salyer while on a mission trip, and the pair remained in contact.
Some have pointed out that Nathan looked smitten with Ashley on the Bringing Up Bates episode where the Salyer sisters came for a visit after meeting the family on a mission trip. However, it appears that it isn’t just Nathan going to New York to visit Ashley. Another photograph shows Ashley standing next to Nathan at the Parrot Mountain and Gardens in Tennessee.
With Nathan Bates making trips to New York to see Ashley Salyer and vice versa, it appears that a courtship is likely for the pair. Though Nathan is the most likely candidate for a courtship, according to these rather telling photographs, there are also rumors that Lawson Bates is courting Duggar daughter Jinger. The rumors began as Jinger appeared next to Lawson in Amy Duggar’s wedding photos. The wedding was not the first time the pair had spent a significant amount of time together. In fact, Lawson arrived early in El Salvador with just Jinger and Joseph on one of the family’s mission trips. Therefore, some have speculated that the pair are very close and will likely, if they’re not already, end up in a courtship.
“I personally think, hey you have 19 kids on each side, I think it’s almost inevitable somewhere down the line. As much as we see each other, I think there’s going to be an attraction somewhere. I don’t know where yet, but I think it’s gonna happen.”
