Fans can watch the New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts game live online and see if the bitterness over the offseason spills over into what could be a critical contest.

The Colts and Patriots met in last year’s AFC Championship, a game that ended up being overshadowed by the months of craziness that followed. During the game, the Colts tipped off the NFL to what appeared to be a partially deflated football.

The scandal grew from there, with leaked reports that the Patriots had purposely deflated 11 of 12 footballs and a report that pointed to guilt. The Patriots were docked $1 million and a first-round draft pick, Tom Brady was suspended (and ultimately appealed, successfully), and now the teams meet again.

The Patriots and Colts will face off Sunday at 8:30 p.m. from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Colts at least are looking to move beyond the DeflateGate controversy and just focus on the game.

“Again, that’s history,” Colts coach Chuck Pagano said (via ESPN.com). “What we’re going to focus on is today…. We’re focusing on us.”

Fans who watch the New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts live online will likely see the return of Andrew Luck, who has missed two games with a shoulder injury, practices on Saturday, and could be back in the starting lineup for the Colts.

There are at least some who think the Colts should hold back on playing Luck, however. Wide receiver-turned-analyst Michael Irvin said the Colts stand little chance of beating the Patriots, even with Luck in the lineup, and shouldn’t be in a rush to get him back if he is not at full health.

“If I’m Indy, I’m goin to seriously consider, right here, making sure I sit and not play Andrew Luck and leave (Matt) Hasselbeck in right now, ” Irvin said on NFL Thursday Night Kickoff(via NFL.com). “First of all, Hasselbeck just won two games and I want to give us an opportunity where (if) we meet again, we have chance.”

Irvin may be right, as the New England Patriots have looked close to perfect this year. Leading the way is Tom Brady, who leads the NFL in passer rating with 121.5 and yards per game with 346.2.

Brady has the Patriots off to a 4-0 start, and while some note that he appears to be motivated by the near-suspension, Brady said he’s just motivated by the game.

“They’ve got a good team, they’ve won three straight, they’ve made some changes this offseason so they’re a confident team,” he said. “It will take a great effort to beat them… We’ll work hard at practice and hopefully get us prepared to go out and beat a good team on the road Sunday night.”

While Brady may not be taking the bait, his father certainly is. Tom Brady Sr. said he hopes the Patriots drop 60 points on the Colts this weekend.

The game could go a long way for both teams in solidifying divisional leads. The Patriots have been perfect this year and could start to put the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills more solidly in the rear view with a win. It’s become something of an annual tradition for the Patriots to start looking at securing home field advantage by the midway point in the season, and this year that time frame could be up even further.

The Colts may only be at 3-2, but the other three teams in the division have just one win each. An upset over the Patriots could help the Colts put the stamp on another AFC South title.
