Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles Bond Over Player Lifestyle To Write One Direction Single ‘Perfect’

Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles, who were formerly the tightest One Direction friends and even lived together for a period, have re-forged their man-bond in the best way known to (pardon the pun) man – by jointly penning a sexy song about their love of fast-living, hot girls, kinky adventures, and no-strings sex (report by Billboard).

While the 1D mates may have drifted apart, with Louis finding an unexpected new best mate in One Direction Video Diaries adversary Liam Payne and Harry drifting further and further into the rock-god dreamscape he inhabits on stage (many commentators have noted Harry’s unique and charismatic stage presence, which sees him alternately spacing out and leaping about maniacally like a demon), Harry and Louis are still close and have come together to pen the new One Direction single “Perfect,” which is a celebration of the life of the lothario.

“I might never be your knight in shining armor
I might never be the one you take home to mother
And I might never be the one who brings you flowers
But I can be the one, be the one tonight”

It seems Liam Payne, who is in a long term relationship with former school chum Sophia Smith, was not in a position to connect with the carefree and ecstatically sexual sentiment a songwriter must tap into in order to pen a live-for-the-moment track like “Perfect,” so Louis turned to playboy bandmate Harry Styles, who is famous for his 5-minute flings with models and starlets, his penchant for ravenous older women, and who was said to have had “a lot of threesomes” on the One Direction Up All Night tour.

Louis Tomlinson – despite being known for penning some of the raciest lyrics in the One Direction songbook – has typically been more private about his dating life, much of which was absorbed by a long-term relationship and which has also tended to involve less high-profile women. In fact, racy stories about the Doncaster boy are so rare that the few that do exist have become the stuff of legend among the rapt 1D fan community (check out this tale, which “lives on in fandom’s collective heart, serving as one of the very few and very rare louis groupie stories”).

Earlier this year, Tomlinson split from long-term girlfriend Eleanor Calder, and Louis’ dalliances with beautiful, adoring women are now a tabloid staple.

“But if you like causing trouble up in hotel rooms
And if you like having secret little rendezvous
If you like to do the things you know that we shouldn’t do
Baby, I’m perfect
Baby, I’m perfect for you”

Eleanor was reportedly devastated by the news (reported by Hollywood Life) that her ex had impregnated stylist Briana Jungwirth, but is not letting the drama get to her. Eleanor is getting on with novel business ventures (The Trend Pear, a style blog she writes with a London friend) and has cleverly capitalised on the large Instagram following pretty much guaranteed to a One Direction girlfriend by joining forces with mobile-era agency Kitten Agency.

Thus far, Harry Styles’ part in writing “Perfect” has received more attention than Louis’, due to one factor: a supposed reference to Styles’ ex Taylor Swift. The Daily Mail has even reported that the song is about Taylor, who is famous for writing breakup songs about her exes.

“And if you like cameras flashing every time we go out
(Oh, yeah)
And if you’re looking for someone to write your breakup songs about
Baby, I’m perfect
Baby, we’re perfect”

The hint in these “Perfect” lyrics about Taylor’s narcissism is particularly intriguing (was she intoxicated by the press attention she received when she dated the 1D heart-throb? Did she take a shine to all those flashing cameras?)

Overall, lyrically, “Perfect” paints a portrait of an affair with a 1D guy that is already a hit with fans – it’s got everything from exotic locales to trashed hotel rooms to misdemeanors and ego-stroking paparazzi attention. Kudos to the guys, who – while they must be tiring of the constant attention themselves – are savvy enough to recognize its panties-moistening potential and the intoxication that such second-hand fame promises for all the girls who clamor after them (or maybe it was just Taylor.)

“And if you like midnight driving with the windows down
And if you like going places we can’t even pronounce
If you like to do whatever you’ve been dreaming about
Baby, you’re perfect
Baby, you’re perfect
So let’s start right now”

In a recent interview, Louis Tomlinson described “Perfect” as a general celebration of carefree living and sexual adventurousness.

“This song is just kind of about saying you’re not the knight in shining armour, your typical Romeo kinda guy, and yeah – just not taking it so seriously. It’s more about the moment.”

Perhaps Louis should have sought the laddish Harry’s advice before embarking on his post-break up dating spree earlier this year – it quickly led to the Briana Jungwirth pregnancy and saw manager Simon Cowell stepping in to encourage Louis to “man up.” Louis’ rebound period of wild sex (which – to be fair – could be no mere “period,” but rather a lifestyle choice that the lucky man has eagerly opted into) also saw the hunk connecting with lingerie model and designer Tamara Bell, as well as a slew of unknown women who were reportedly “all hoping to be the one to land Louis.”

Calabasas beauty Briana issued all of Louis’ other ladies a fateful check-mate when she became pregnant with the singer’s child (it has just been reported in In Touch Weekly that the two are expecting a girl), pretty much guaranteeing that he will be in her life for a long time to come. Louis lovers needn’t fear though- the two are reportedly just “good friends” and Briana is “the mother of his child, nothing more.”

One Direction’s album Made In The Am will be out on November 13, on the same day as Justin Bieber’s Purpose (fans are now locked in a heated social media war). The video for the single “Perfect” has already been filmed and could appear any day now.
