Master P Blames Kardashian Family For Fate Of Lamar Odom [Video]

Master P, also known by his given name, Percy Miller, is an amazing entertainer with his hands in various components of the entertainment industry, including music, sports, acting, and more. Recently, Master P spoke out about his beliefs regarding the downfall of once great NBA basketball player Lamar Odom.

The Root reports that the friendship between Master P and the athlete has been ongoing for nearly 15 years. Lamar is currently in a coma fighting for his life after collapsing at a Las Vegas brothel. It is the opinion of Master P that Odom’s rocky marriage to reality TV star Khloe Kardashian, and all that reality TV entails, is responsible for the beginning of his downward spiral of depression and drug use.

“[Odom] thought that this show was going to help him at the basketball. You know, I feel like it’s crazy, because now you know all these people love you, talk all about stuff about you and how they miss you to do the best basketball, but when you was around, you have no love. I was the first person to take him back to the [Los Angeles] Clippers.”

Master P thinks the Kardashian family’s outpouring of love in the wake of the basketball player’s decline is fake. As Master P’s long-time friend lies in a coma, Master P is not keeping quiet about his opinions.

“He was in good shape, but I think he got blackballed. I mean, because of what he was into. They feel like he was on the reality show… I feel like it’s fake. Everybody loves somebody when something happens to him.”

IMDb states that in his younger days, Master P played basketball on the American Basketball League, otherwise known as the ABL. Master P’s coach, Joe “Jellybean” Bryant, was the father of athletic superstar Kobe Bryant.

And speaking of Kobe Bryant, Master P groups him in the same class as the Kardashians. Master P says that Kobe, as a friend, could have saved Odom by granting him a spot on the Lakers’ NBA team, reports Sports Grid. According to Master P, all the basketball player wanted was to get back into the game, and Kobe could have — and should have — made that dream come true.

Master P, the self-proclaimed mentor to Odom, is not convinced that Bryant did all he could to help their mutual friend. Although Kobe, Khloe Kardashian, and her family have all been to see him in the hospital, Master P calls the sympathy they have shown “fake” and “phony.”

While Master P puts the blame for Odom’s fate on the shoulders of Bryant, Kardashian, and reality TV in general, it is interesting to note that Master P intends to film his own reality show in the near future. According to the Wrap, Master P will debut his new family reality series, Master P’s Family Empire, late this November.

How does Master P’s show differ from Keeping Up with the Kardashians? Master P states it will be more positive. Master P’s Family Empire will follow Master P and his five children as they work, play, and love.
