Liza Morales Custody Battle: Lamar Odom Was Due In Court Days After His Alleged Ischemic Stroke
Liza Morales and her ex, Lamar Odom, were due in court this week to address their ongoing custody battle over their two children, Destiny Odom and Lamar Odom Jr. However, due to Odom’s current hospitalization, the court date is expected to be postponed.
Liza Morales and her children are currently in Las Vegas, where her former partner, and their father, remains in serious condition. After arriving in Sin City on Wednesday, Liza Morales shared an inspiring tweet with her fans and followers on Twitter.

In addition to their two children, Destiny and Lamar Jr., Liza Morales and Odom were also parents to a son named Jayden, who tragically died years ago at just 6-months-old as a result of SIDS. In 2012, six years after he died, Liza Morales shared the following photo with fans.

Liza Morales has yet to release a statement directly addressing Odom’s health crisis.
Liza Morales and her family are based out of New York, but on Wednesday, they were photographed arriving in Las Vegas, where Odom is under the care of doctors at the Sunrise Hospital. In photos obtained by the Daily Mail, who also reported of the couple’s upcoming court date, 17-year-old Destiny was seen in all black with a hat pulled down over her head, while her 13-year-old brother, Lamar Jr., was wearing a long-sleeve black T-shirt and blue jeans. Odom’s aunt arrived in Las Vegas with Liza Morales and the children.
Liza Morales’ court battle with Odom reportedly began in 2010, when Odom requested a judge sign off on a child support order and custody schedule. That same year, Odom went to court for a second time and filed a “motion to compel” against Liza Morales, and that same day, Liza Morales filed a motion for Pendente Lite Other. According to the Daily Mail, Liza Morales was requesting a “temporary order for custody, support or both from the judge pending the outcome of their courtroom trial.”
While Liza Morales’ flight to Las Vegas from New York with her children was believed to have been arranged by Odom’s ex-wife, Khloe Kardashian, things between the two families haven’t always been cordial.
In fact, upon learning news of Odom and Kardashian’s split, Liza Morales’ daughter, Destiny, reportedly said, “No one thought they were going to last, so honestly, who [cares]… I have him all to myself.”
Liza Morales’ ex, Odom, married Kardashian in September 2009, just one month after meeting at a party thrown by his then-teammate Ron Artest. The wedding, as well as much of the wedding preparation, aired on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Following the elegant affair, Odom and Kardashian went on to star in their own spinoff series, Khloe & Lamar, which aired for two seasons on the E! Network.
In 2013, rumors regarding Odom’s alleged drug use and infidelities began to surface, and months later, on December 13, 2013, Kardashian filed for divorce. However, due to Odom not wanting to part ways, the couple’s divorce was not finalized until June of this year. Still, despite the reports of its finalization, many outlets are now saying that Kardashian is still married to Liza Morales’ ex and thus responsible for calling the shots when it comes to his medical care. Us Weekly reported news on October 15 that claimed Odom and Kardashian’s divorce documents were still pending.
Liza Morales and Odom, who may have suffered an ischemic stroke, according to E! News, were supposed to be in New York court on October 22.
