Kaley Cuoco And Johnny Galecki Address Rumors: Are Just Friends, No Homewrecking Or Secret Fling Drama
In the wake of Kaley Cuoco’s recent split from her husband, rumors have abounded that her co-star and former boyfriend Johnny Galecki may have had something to do with the untimely end of that marriage. However, the two friends have taken to social media to slam those “rekindling romance” rumors and announce that Cuoco and her Big Bang Theory co-star, Galecki, are just friends and nothing more.
The social media platform of choice for grand announcements lately seems to be Instagram, and the friends chose to continue the trend when Cuoco posted a black-and-white photo of the two bumping fists with huge smiles directed at each other. The 29-year-old actress also denounced the possibility that she and Galecki were having a secret affair and he was a home wrecker.
“So sorry to disappoint, but no home wreckers or secret flings going on here. Me and @sanctionedjohnnygalecki are just the best of buds – Leonard and Penny will just have to suffice!!!”

Cuoco and her pro tennis player husband, 28-year-old Ryan Sweeting, chose to divorce after only 21 months of marriage and following rampant rumors of relationship struggles that started in April. It was heavily speculated that Kaley’s marriage issues were because she never got over Galecki and that ever since the divorce was announced she and Johnny had wasted no time rekindling their romance.
Johnny Galecki also posted a slightly different but more whimsical black-and-white photo of the two to his own Instagram page. The 40-year-old actor also accompanied the Instagram photo with a message that echoed Cuoco’s.
“No scandals / home wreckers / pregnancies here, y’all. Just profound friendship.”

The on-screen couple of Big Bang Theory‘s Penny and Leonard, who tied the knot this season, are no strangers to dating rumors though and have been fighting them ever since 2010. Cuoco and Galecki dated secretly for almost two years before they broke up in the year 2010. People Magazine wrote that secrecy contributed a lot to that split since they sought to protect the show and not let their personal relationship be known. That level of protectiveness and the fact that when questioned they always had to deny, deny, deny the relationship led to its deterioration. Cuoco and Galecki still have a professional relationship, and she says they maintain a friendship as well and hopes the rumors of anything else stops.

Right before the impending divorce was announced on September 25, Kaley had given an interview about how lucky she was that her ex, herself, and her husband were on good terms. Cuoco says she lucked out because Johnny is one of her closest friends and the fact that Ryan loved him too was really great.
“We dated like 5 years ago. So I think we’ve both moved on. And Johnny’s actually one of my best friends. It’s a situation that ended well. I understand sometimes it doesn’t.”
Cuoco and Sweeting got married on New Years Eve in 2013. The Big Bang Theory actress insisted that there was no awkwardness between her husband and her former beau. In fact, Galecki attended the wedding of his friend and co-star. ET reported on how when rumors of their difficulties started, the couple never personally acknowledged that they were growing apart. In fact, Cuoco used Instagram once more to say that she has never been prouder of anyone on the planet than she was of Sweeting. The tennis pro had been battling a series of professional injuries and yet was always present in the marriage; he was there for constant conversations and helped make decisions together.
That Instagram post has since been deleted, and no one has to question the reason for such a move.
The rumors that Galecki was a homewrecker and he and Cuoco were getting back together because they share a “special bond” also gained traction after his own break up over the summer. Actress Kelli Garner, who was Galecki’s girlfriend for two years, split from the actor in August, just one month before Sweeting and Cuoco.
However, it is time to put those rumors to rest and accept that Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki are just friends.
