Leighton Meester Wins Lawsuit Against Her Mother Constance

Leighton Meester is not contractually bound to giver her mother Constance a dime of her earnings.

TMZ reports that Leighton sued her mother last year, claiming that Constance Meester was misusing funds that the Gossip Girl star had sent to take care of her little brother. Constance was allegedly using the money for things like plastic surgery instead of using the money on Lex, 17, who recently underwent brain surgery.

Constance claimed that she didn’t misuse the money because she had an oral agreement with Leighton to the tune of $10,000 a month. E! Online reports that the reported oral contract was based on the “sacrifices” Constance made in order to give her daughter a chance to become an actor. Constance then counter-sued saying that she was owed $3 million.

Constance dropped her $3 million lawsuit in December but Leighton wanted to make everything official in court. According to CTV, the Gossip Girl star didn’t sue for any money, but did want a judge to officially declare that she didn’t owe her mother anything. Leighton got that ruling today.

Judge Gregory Alacron ruled that Leighton Meester has no official obligation to pay her mother a dime.

A source close to the actress said:

“Leighton is disgusted by her mother and is determined to get her brother Lex out of that situation. She wants Lex (her 17-year-old brother) to leave their mom’s California home and come to live with her in New York.”

Meester is now reportedly seeking custody of her younger brother.
