Wreck-It Ralph: Disney Releases Trailer For New Video Game Based Movie [Video]

King Koopa? Check. Pack-Man? Check. Zangief? Yep, the new Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph revisits several classic video game characters as Ralph starts game hopping around the video game universe.

Ralph, played by John C. Reilly, is sick of being a bad guy. So Wreck-It Ralph stops wrecking stuff in search for something more meaningful. Along his way, he runs into several classic video game characters, as well as a few new ones played by Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, and Jane Lynch.

Reilly said that he was a big video game aficionado in the early 80s.

The actor said:

“In the early ’80s, when my expendable income were the quarters in my pocket, I played such first-generation games as Space Invaders, Asteroids and Donkey Kong.”

USA Today reports that this will be Disney’s 52nd animated feature film. Rich Moore, who has been behind several episodes of Futurama and The Simpsons, will be directing the new movie.

Disney writes:

“Wreck-It Ralph (voice of Reilly) longs to be as beloved as his game’s perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix (voice of McBrayer). Problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy. But they do love heroes… so when a modern, first-person shooter game arrives featuring tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Lynch), Ralph sees it as his ticket to heroism and happiness.”
