WWE Rumors: Sami Zayn Teases TNA Jump And Is Making Appearance With Another Company — Is He Done With NXT?

Sami Zayn was injured at the start of the summer and revealed in June that he likely wouldn’t be back in the ring before the end of the year. He’s recently caused quite a stir online, and it’s led to a lot of talk about his future with WWE and NXT. Some have wondered if he was teasing going to TNA, and now it’s known that he will be appearing for another wrestling promotion. However, it’s not as bad as you think.

This past weekend, Sami Zayn posted a tweet that caused a huge stir, and no one quite knew what to make of it. With TNA currently going through their annual Bound For Glory build-up and matches, Zayn’s tweet made everyone kind of freak out.

Immediately, this had a lot of Twitter users, mostly TNA fans, thinking that Zayn was going to be bringing his talents to the competition. Add this to Finn Balor posting a picture of himself outside of the TNA offices, and many thought that two of wrestling’s biggest stars were going to be jumping ship.

Balor isn’t going anywhere — he was just having some fun. He’s even admitted that he asked Triple H before posting the picture. As for Zayn? He’s not going to TNA either, and he explained what his tweet meant as Pulse Wrestling reported.

Sami Zayn is still under contract with WWE and NXT, so he won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. The thing is that there is apparently a good working relationship between WWE and WWN Live, which is progressing nicely.

WrestleZone reported that Zayn is going to be appearing at the upcoming EVOLVE 49 and EVOLVE 50 iPPV shows that are taking place in New York this weekend. Due to his injury, he’s going to be appearing in a non-wrestling capacity, but just having him there is going to be a huge boost for the company and the events.

Right now, Zayn is dealing with a shoulder injury that hit him at the worst time imaginable. He had just won the NXT Title, which he ended up losing to Kevin Owens. That’s not even mentioning that Zayn had made an appearance on Monday Night Raw, and it looked like his WWE main roster spot was coming soon.

He showed up on Raw to accept the call in John Cena’s U.S. Open Challenge and came really close to capturing the title. It was thought that the injury happened in the match or even on the way to the ring, but Zayn still put on one heck of a match.

The match wasn’t necessarily a “Match of the Year” candidate, but it sure came close. It was certainly pay-per-view caliber and a match that showed Zayn is easily ready for the main roster. Chances are he would have been called up shortly after if not for his injury.

Now, he’s still got a few more months until he can wrestle at all, but WWE and NXT fans at least know he isn’t going anywhere.

The tease about TNA and “Bound For Glory” was short-lived and totally unintentional by Sami Zayn. He will be appearing for EVOLVE this weekend, but WWE knows all about it, and it’s due to a good relationship between the two promotions. When Zayn is healed up, he’ll be returning back to NXT and hopefully hitting the WWE main roster soon too.
