Chrissy Teigen Instagram: John Legend’s Wife Announces Pregnancy After Fertility Struggles
Chrissy Teigen has made a big announcement on her Instagram account that is sure to warm the souls of her fans and those of her husband, John Legend. Teigen wrote how overjoyed she and Legend were to announce their pregnancy news.
“John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant ? As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We’re so excited that it’s finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching! Xx”
The Instagram post gained more than 187,000 likes in 33 minutes. It is a stylish black and white photo with Chrissy laying supine on a couch as John rests his hand on her baby bump. This pregnancy announcement is especially endearing due to Chrissy Teigen recently opening up about the couple’s infertility struggles, as reported by E!
Chrissy Teigen had joined Tyra Banks in discussing the problems faced when trying to get pregnant and have children. Banks and Teigen also discussed how frustrating it was when folks who had no idea that they’d endured fertility issues kept asking them, glibly, when they would have children.
A video clip from the FABLife, a talk show featuring Banks and Teigen, went viral when the two opened up about their fertility issues. While Tyra Banks spoke of her frustration with unsolicited questions, 29-year-old Chrissy Teigen agreed that the well-meaning questions about pregnancies and babies became a bit much to handle for her, as well.
“I’d been doing appearances, constantly, and the question that was coming up from everybody, and it comes with good intentions, but people want to know ‘When you’re having a baby and do you feel pressure to have children? And not necessarily pressure to have children, but pressure to talk about it all the time.”
With this new pregnancy announcement from Chrissy Teigen, expect lots more food photos like the following one from Tiegen, who appears to love food, to pop up on her Instagram account as the pregnancy cravings increase.
It’s quite the bit of happy news for the couple, and for fans of John Legend, who have been tracking Legend ever since his Get Lifted album first dropped in 2004. The maturity of the singer is evident over the nearly 11 years since that album hit the scene like gangbusters, featuring lyrics that paint a photo of a man who swears to his love that he can change. The former choir director included voicemail messages from his parents in that album, a sweepingly differing album that showed the full measure of the man at that point in his life.
Apparently, Teigen ended up being that future mate whom Legend prophetically spoke of changing and preparing for, even promising to go to church and get baptized if his love wanted. From those love promises to the sweeping ballads on the same album, the range of emotional maturity the singer displays indicates John Legend will likely make an awesome father.
Later anthems like “All of Me” and “Glory” continued that trend; now that John and Chrissy are becoming parents, they have a bevy of great songs to play to that in utero baby to get him or her ready for Legend’s legendary voice and lyrics.
