Reality Star Vicki Gunvalson Claims Her Late Mother Was Supportive Of Her Relationship With Brooks Ayers

Reality star Vicki Gunvalson’s daughter, Briana Culberson, was seen chatting with Tamra Barney on last week’s new episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, and during the ladies’ chat, Culberson claimed the reality star’s late mother, Joanne Steinmetz, was not a fan of Brooks Ayers, Gunvalson’s ex-boyfriend. However, according to a tweet by the reality star on October 11, Culberson’s claim wasn’t factual.

Earlier on Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, longtime reality star Gunvalson was seen getting a call in which someone informed her that her mother had died suddenly in her home. During the episode, Gunvalson was seen collapsing on the floor during a game night with her co-stars after learning the devastating news. While the candid on-screen moment was quite dramatic for the reality star, there was even more drama on the way regarding her then-boyfriend, Ayers.

Since 2013, Ayers has claimed to be suffering from stage 3 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, but unfortunately, many of the reality star’s co-stars don’t believe he’s truly ill. Although Gunvalson has claimed she’s gone to doctor visits with her former beau and has seen his medical records, her co-star, Meghan King Edmonds, the newest cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County, isn’t convinced, and she has done several things throughout filming in order to prove her thoughts of his fake diagnosis are true.

During one episode of the show, Edmonds revealed she had contacted the ex-girlfriend of Ayers in hopes of gaining information about his cancer. In turn, Edmonds reportedly discovered Ayers had lied about cancer in the past. She then called the reality star’s then boyfriend’s doctor and was told he didn’t treat cancer.

In response to Edmonds’ ongoing investigating, Gunvalson’s reality star ex-boyfriend sent a cease and desist letter to Edmonds, demanding the new reality star stop talking about his health, which she has seemingly refused to do. During an interview with People Magazine a short while after receiving Ayers’ legal documents, Edmonds confirmed she had refused to issue an apology to her fellow reality star.

“I am waiting patiently on my official documents that I’m being sued. I already got one letter threatening to sue if I don’t comply with his requests, including one to issue a formal public apology. I didn’t respond on purpose, because he’s full of crap and doesn’t have a case. So now I’m waiting to be sued. He won’t. He knows he’s a liar and he’s pissed off at me and made a feeble attempt to intimidate me into not talking. When really, it’s so ridiculous I simply laughed it off. He doesn’t have the balls to sue me.”

Because the reality star is convinced her co-star is lying about having cancer, she isn’t backing down, and despite threats of a defamation lawsuit, she’s refusing to apologize for comments made about Ayers and his cancer.

Following Season 10, reality star Gunvalson parted ways with Ayers after four years of on-again-off-again dating. Since then, Ayers has relocated from Southern California, where he lived with the reality star, to Florida.
