‘Halo 5: Guardians’ Heartbreaking Ending Spoiler And New Launch Trailer Released

We are days from the official Halo 5: Guardians launch for Xbox One, but people are already getting gaga over the foretold ending that Halo 5 will meet. A lot of reports and spoilers are going around the internet already, but there’s one standout Halo 5: Guardians end scene report that has been leaked unintentionally by a promotion video for Halo 5: Guardians.

Spoilers for Halo 5: Guardians ahead. While all of these are still on speculation status since Xbox One, 323 Industries, and Microsoft have yet to confirm the news, those who intend to proceed must still tread with caution.

Halo 5: Guardians has been consistently promoting the franchise and is also only launching to Xbox One in the hopes of pushing more Xbox 360 loyalists out of the older console and into the newer-generation Xbox. Several promotional and behind-the-scenes Halo 5 videos have already been released by the official Halo account on YouTube, and one of the most recent promo videos, only released on September 29, brings devastating spoilers that will tear Halo 5 fans apart.

The video in question is entitled “The Sprint,” which serves as the Season 3 teaser of Halo 5: Guardians for Xbox One. The promotional video for Halo 5 is a short glimpse into the making of Halo 5, from the making of the official soundtrack to the making of the graphics. However, at around 0:17, a Microsoft or 343 Industries employee is seen on the video flipping through the pages of the Halo 5: Guardians script, making the video vulnerable to the technological proficiency of hardcore Halo 5 fans.

The shot of the Halo 5 insider browsing through the supposed Halo 5 script is enlarged and modified to be readable by the human eye. Those at the Xbox One community on Reddit were the first ones to speculate about the upcoming Halo 5 ending and were able to recover the split-second spoiler of Masterchief’s apparent doom from the Halo 5: Guardians promo video.

What spoilers are contained in the Halo 5 script? Here’s what Reddit user Alex06 was able to recover (with some of the text unreadable).

“In the utter silence. LOCKE stammers (UNREADABLE). This has all gone so very wrong.
REVEAL: Turning over Locke, wreckage. The hull of Infinity (UNREADABLE) has (UNREADABLE) is pierced, stands here like a (UNREADABLE) mountain.
LOCKE
No…Please…
And as Locke turns to look around him, the slow reveal of Infinity, BROKEN, its three-mile-long hull shattered. The wreckage is spread across a half-dozen miles of fiery landscape.
But then he sees it – the thing he dreaded most… THE MASTER CHIEF, face down in the snow. He’s missing a gauntlet and one leg is turned at an impossible angle. Locke walks to Chief’s side, falls to his knees, already knows what he’s going to see.
LOCKE (cont’d)
Chief:
No Reaction, Locke rolls Chief over a GROAN OF EXERTION as he shoves chief’s TONS OF DEAD WEIGHT over his neck.
The Chief’s helmet is CRUMPLED in from a FRONTAL IMPACT. His chest armor is ripped open from the Warden’s attacks (Cinematic 014 Final Battle), bloody.
We can’t leave any doubt that the big guy is dead, but aim for a PG-13 style, yeah? This is about the shock that there’s nothing Locke can do. NOT the gore.
LOCKE (cont’d)
Locke to Osiris. He’s… He’s dead. The Warden…”

What is the meaning of this? Has Halo 5 spoiled itself accidentally, not taking into consideration some crazy fans might try to recover the shot of the Halo 5 script they skimmed through in the video? Is this the most heartbreaking but apt ending for one of the most phenomenal Halo titles to date?
