‘The Walking Dead’ Episode 2 Sneak Peek: Another Threat And Another Chance For Father Gabriel?

Episode 1 of The Walking Dead opened amid a flurry of walkers and black and white flashbacks, a giant puzzle that was slowly put together again by the end of the episode. But now, with the 90 minute season 6 premiere already over, let’s take a look forward into Episode 2 of The Walking Dead.

SPOILER ALERT: This article contains information about Episode 2 (entitled “JSS”) of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Please proceed with caution if you have not yet viewed all available episodes.

First up, here’s the synopsis for Episode 2 of season 6 of The Walking Dead, courtesy of the AMC website:

“Just when it looks like things can return to normal, or as normal as things can be in the apocalypse, a new problem arises for the Alexandrians.”

Because Episode 1 (entitled “First Time Again”) of The Walking Dead wasn’t heart pumping enough — perhaps Episode 2 should have been given the title “First Time Again” since there seems to be another problem about to unfold. Could it be the arrival of the Wolves in Alexandria? And, what exactly does “JSS” stand for anyway? You can check out a theory in this previous Inquisitr article.

Next up is the first of two sneak peek videos of Episode 2.

The first video is the usual one shown after each episode of The Walking Dead. It shows a general feel for the upcoming episode. In this teaser video, fans get to see what appears to be the “new problem” suggested by the Episode 2 synopsis above. Carol (played by Melissa McBride) and Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) discuss this new threat, with Carol telling Carl to stay in the house and look after Judith — has no one learned anything about trying to keep Carl in the house yet?

Enid (Katelyn Nacon) is talking about how it is too hard to protect Alexandria because it is “too big” and has “too many blind spots”. Meanwhile others are running around outside, with Deanna Monroe (Tovah Feldshuh) seemingly coming across something that shocks her. Aaron (Ross Marquand is covered in blood spatters and is aiming his gun at someone.

Jessie Anderson (Alexandra Breckenridge) is scared and armed as she locks the door and tries to keep her family safe from whatever is threatening them as someone with short blond hair is being brought into Alexandria. This person is being carried and appears to have a stomach wound.

The second Walking Dead sneak peek video is a scene between Carl Grimes and Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam). In it, Father Gabriel is begging forgiveness, explaining that he now knows he was talking about himself rather than Rick and his group when he spoke to Deanna Monroe in season 5 of The Walking Dead. He is asking to be trained up so he can learn to deal with the zombie apocalypse rather than hiding from it.

Carl is hesitant, saying Father Gabriel needs to confess to the entire group rather than just himself. Just when you think Carl is done with Father Gabriel, he tells the reverend to “come around three [o’clock], we’ll start with the machete.” So perhaps Father Gabriel is finally on the long slow road to redemption?
