The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj Keep Promise With ‘SNL’ Remix

The Weeknd was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, but he wasn’t alone, USA Today reported.

Nicki Minaj joined The Weeknd for a remix of his hit song “The Hills,” following through on an Instagram post from a month ago promising the two artists could be working together in the near future, the Inquisitr previously reported.

The Weeknd started “The Hills” alone before Nicki came onto the stage, much to the SNL audience’s delight. Minaj then joined in on the lustful ballad, quickly pushing the sexy factor on the song (and on the stage) through the roof.

Minaj certainly turned the heat up for The Weeknd, wearing an outfit that left little to the imagination. Her purple and orange outfit was accentuated by black high-heeled boots, and the singer posted an Instagram post about the outfit. Minaj tagged fashion designers Balmain and Alexander McQueen, whose outfit revealed the “Anacoda” singer’s underwear.

During the performance with The Weeknd on “The Hills,” Minaj laid smooth lyrics that could have just as easily have been about the outfit that she wore for the SNL performance.

“Remember that time I showed up with just panties under my coat? High heels they was knee-high, my legs grippin’ that throat…”

Remixing “The Hills” with Nicki on SNL isn’t the only collaboration The Weeknd has on the hit single. Recently, Eminem tweeted that he, too, had been working with the “Can’t Feel My Face” singer on a new version of the song.

Unfortunately, it was the only collaboration The Weeknd and Minaj had on the night. However, The Weeknd later returned to perform “Can’t Feel My Face” for the SNL crowd.

The Weeknd capped off a busy week, Us Weekly Magazine reported. On Friday, The Weeknd joined girlfriend Bella Hadid, her sister Gigi, and others for a birthday lunch for Bella.

For Nicki Minaj, she’s also been busy of late. In addition to announcing that she would soon be recording and producing a series about her youth for television, Minaj has also had to deflect rumors that she and her boyfriend, Meek Mill, were engaged because of the ring that she’s wearing on her finger, the Inquisitr reported previously.

Both songs The Weeknd performed on SNL are off of the artist’s new album Beauty Behind The Madness. The latest compilation, which The Weeknd announced would drop in epic fashion, has been a smash hit, with both “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills” taking the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100.

In fact, The Weeknd became the first male artist to have one hit song dethroned by yet another one of their songs since 2008, Billboard reported last month. Only Taylor Swift has performed the achievement in the past seven years.

Amy Schumer hosted SNL this week, Huffington Post reported. The comedian opened the show with a monologue about the Kardashians in a tongue-in-cheek take on Hollywood’s lack of positive female role models.

“We have to be a role model for these little girls, because who do they have? All they have, literally, is the Kardashians…. A whole family who take the faces they were born with as a light suggestion?”

She also joked about meeting Bradley Cooper and how attractive the male actor is to her.

“He’s the kind of hot where when he’s in front of you, you would just grab your ankles,” Schumer told her SNL audience.
