Will One Direction's Jamie Scott Be Pirated By Zayn Malik?

For fans that are looking for more amazing One Direction-style music in 2016 -- Zayn Malik might have fans covered since he may be coveting 1D's songwriter. But will Jamie Scott stick around as One Direction's songwriter out of loyalty -- or does Jamie Scott already have plans outside of 1D that include Zayn and other celebs?

AceShowbiz reported on October 10 that Harry Styles posted on his Twitter page on October 9 that they would be releasing One Direction's next single, "Perfect," in the near future. The tweet got deleted, and Liam Payne later told fans that the "Perfect" single was no mirage -- but no release date was revealed.

However, it appears that once the album is released, the talent behind their music might be leaving One Direction for the Zayn Malik camp. About their recent talent team, Latino Post reported on September 23 that their last song "Infinity" was written by Jamie Scott, members of One Direction, and others.

On top of this, the Guardian shows that Jamie Scott has prowess on his own -- but being a songwriter for One Direction certainly helped his career. About Jamie Scott, they wrote the following on January 29.

"That musical flexibility afforded to songwriters is also cherished by Jamie Scott, whose 2006 album with the Polydor-signed Jamie Scott & the Town... Scott has subsequently co-written for artists as diverse as Michael Kiwanuka, Enrique Iglesias and One Direction, for whom Scott's hits include Story of My Life."
Social Life adds to Jamie Scott's resume by pointing out that he also wrote "Wild Heart" for The Vamps.

As far as revealing information about One Direction, Jamie Scott always seems to have news to dish to the press. For instance, when Zayn Malik left One Direction, Jamie Scott is one of the insiders that clarified that 1D and Zayn were not splitting up because of infighting. The Mirror quoted Jamie Scott stating the following.

"Zayn went because he'd had enough. Have you ever been on the road for four years?... It was, 'OK, I don't want to be in this band any more'... People want it to be complicated and have secret reasons but that is what it was."
Jamie Scott has plenty of intimate stories about working with the top pop band in the world -- and he might give it all up for Zayn Malik despite his loyalties to 1D. In particular, One Direction is a major part of the reason that Jamie Scott became famous in the first place.

When MTV UK interviewed him about some of his first experiences in life, overwhelmingly many of Jamie Scott's responses went back to One Direction. For example, Jamie Scott states the following about the first time he realized he was famous.

"Maybe when I was on tour with One Direction... And I pulled up and there was a bus full of girls just shouting my name."
Regardless, while they are on break, it appears that Jamie Scott might be going the opposite direction -- and into the arms of Zayn Malik. The Mirror reports on October 10 that insiders report the following.
"Zayn knows Jamie is a ticket to a hit and has been sending messages to him trying to get the songwriter on board. But Jamie feels that working with Zayn could cause problems because of his history with the band."
On the other hand, Jamie Scott might be flirting with other musicians besides Zayn Malik and One Direction. The Spec reports on September 24 that Adele is due for her third album -- and One Direction's songwriter helped her with the project.

According to the report, insiders say, "[Adele] spent a day with 1D songwriter Jamie Scott."

But could Jamie Scott's inability to stay exclusive with the One Direction team be industry-related? On January 13, Stark Insider reported that Jamie Scott may have worries about getting sales from One Direction records but sees "monetization continuing in new ways."

About making money with One Direction and how making money with music has changed for him over the years, Jamie Scott is quoted as saying the following.

"[P]eople are still going to gigs and watching TV where we can have our music playing. I don't think it's the end of the world, but it's definitely not what it was."
Nevertheless, no matter who Jamie Scott writes for outside of One Direction -- fans can expect his theme will always be the same. According to an August 21, 2014 interview from She Knows, when asked what inspires him to write his songs, Jamie Scott replied, "I write things that have happened to me and the feelings that I have."
