Becky Watts Was Dismembered In Sexually Motivated Murder

Details in the gruesome murder of Becky Watts have surfaced in media reports more than nine months after her dismembered remains were found in a shed, where she was hidden by her 28-year-old stepbrother and his 21-year-old girlfriend. Inside Edition reports that the 16-year-old girl was purposely targeted by the couple, and the reasons why are nothing short of horrifying.

Even though the stepbrother of the slain teen told authorities that his motive surrounded his hatred of her, it’s become clear that this is not the case. In fact, it’s been revealed that Nathan Matthews and his girlfriend Shauna Hoare both had a perverted obsession with “petite teenage girls,” much like notorious British serial killers Fred and Rosemary West.

The Mirror reports that the trial of Nathan Matthews and Shauna Hoare is underway, and, by the second day, a disturbing list of details have been revealed surrounding the violent death of Becky Watts. According to authorities, evidence was found indicating that both Matthews and Hoare were actively planning to kidnap and kill the 16-year-old girl under pure sexual motivation. Authorities have shown that text messages between the couple indicated that they were interested in kidnapping a young teenage girl for their own sexual gratification.

These texts weren’t the only evidence used to determine their sexually-motivated plans. Surveillance footage from the day of Becky’s murder was shown to the jury, and the footage is damning to say the least. The footage reportedly showed both Hoare and Matthews shopping for bleach, rubber gloves, plastic wrap, and trash bags. They were also seen buying batteries, which were likely used for a stun gun. It should be noted that Becky’s dismembered body parts were wrapped in the same plastic wrap that the couple were seen purchasing in surveillance footage. That’s not all surveillance footage showed. In fact, Nathan Matthews was also seen purchasing a circular saw — which was used in the dismemberment of 16-year-old Becky Watts.

The 16-year-old teen was reportedly stabbed at least 15 times in her abdomen after she died. A screwdriver was also jammed into her neck. However, her cause of death was suffocation. Matthews admitted to police that he entered the girl’s room to kidnap her while wearing a ski-mask and armed with a stun-gun. However, he strangled her to death when she fought back. This doesn’t explain why her body was violently stabbed and mutilated following her strangulation death, but authorities believe there was a sexual element to these behaviors.

Even though surveillance footage shows both Hoare and Matthews shopping for provisions used in the murder and dismemberment of Becky Watts, the 21-year-old woman claims that she had no knowledge of the crime. This is a claim that the prosecution has deemed “laughable.” Matthews has also claimed that his 21-year-old girlfriend was not involved, but the evidence thus far has shown otherwise.

Nathan Matthews and Shauna Hoare deny the claims that their crime was based on a sexual fantasy involving young girls. Matthews claims that he wanted to kidnap his teenage stepsister because she was “selfish.” He also claimed that she mistreated his mother, who is the stepmother of the slain girl.

Authorities say that Hoare and Matthews spent two days dismembering the girl and wrapping her body parts in plastic before storing them in salt in a shed near their home. Their home also contained evidence which indicated a sexual interest in petite teenage girls — all evidence that may end in a successful conviction. Meanwhile, it’s being reported that Becky had told her psychologist that she feared her 28-year-old stepbrother. The Bristol Post reports that the 16-year-old claimed that she did not like the man.
