South Carolina Mom Under Scrutiny After Shaving Son’s Head And Making Him Wear Tutu In Walmart
A South Carolina mom has attracted attention in news reports and social media for the way she punished her 10-year-old son. The Dreamin’ Demon reports that police were called on the unnamed parent after shoppers at a Walmart store in Rock Hill witnessed what they believed to be the abusive treatment of her son.
The mother was reportedly seen parading her son around the Walmart shopping center, after shaving his head bald and forcing him to wear a tutu. He was also wearing a shirt that had words written on it with permanent marker. The word “BAD” was written across his shaved head.
When authorities confronted the South Carolina mom in the store, they notified her that what she was doing was bordering child abuse. That is why she is now being investigated by the appropriate authorities. However, no reports indicate whether or not she is in any actual trouble for her unorthodox means of punishment.
The mom has defended herself by alleging that her son got in trouble for making homophobic remarks, and she had failed at punishing him using corporal means. She claimed that she felt that humiliating him in this fashion would be more effective than any other attempts at punishing him. The Herald reports that DSS is investigating.

People on social media have taken interest in this particular case, with a variety of comments being made — both in support and disgust.
This is not the first time a parent has attracted unfavorable attention due to their choices of punishment. Recently a Florida mother was arrested after she forced her daughter to wear a “shame shirt” to school, which referenced her being beaten. The shirt attracted mass media attention, and drew the ire of users of social media. The shirt famously demanded that nobody befriend the girl, among other comments.
“My name is (redacted) I currently have all F’s in all of my classes. I am not aloud to have a boyfriend no time soon. So back off before I get another good woopin like I got last night. Also I can no longer have ANY friends until ALL of my F’s are ALL brought up to C’s and up!!! So unless you are helping me with this goal… BACK OFF!!! In 2014, a mother threatened to sue her daughter’s school after the teen violated the dress code and was made to wear a shirt that said “Dress Code Violation.” Apparently the teen wore a skirt that violated the rule established by the school that orders dresses, shorts, and skirts be no more than three inches above the knee.
