Drake, Serena Williams Engaged? Report Claims He Proposed In Toronto

Are Drake and Serena Williams engaged?

A new report claims OK! magazine claims the Know Yourself rapper and the tennis star are engaged to be married, according to Celeb Dirty Laundry.

According to the report, Drake popped the question last month after Serena Williams experienced a major loss at the U.S. Open. He reportedly took her on a trip to Toronto and asked her to marry him.

The report further claims that an inside source opened up about the proposal and why neither Drake nor Serena Williams has confirmed it publicly yet.

“[Serena] said yes but they want to keep it on the down-low for now.”

Rumors of a blossoming relationship between Drake and Serena Williams have continued to circulate online for months. However, neither of them have confirmed publicly that they are seeing one another. In a July interview with a reporter, according to ET Online, Serena responded to the rumors by discussing their bond as friends.

“We’ve been friends for, like, so many years. Just like family.”

Drake has definitely shown up to support Serena Williams on numerous occasions over the past several months as well.

For instance, according to Entertainment Tonight, the Energy rapper sat in Serena’s box at Wimbledon in England and attended the majority of her matches.

He even showed up to Serena’s press conference after she defeated Maria Sharapova in the semi-finals. After Serena Williams lost the U.S. Open, a lot of people blamed Drake for Serena not walking away with her well-deserved victory. However, Serena apparently did not feel the same way.

Nearly one week later, Serena essentially paid tribute to Drake by using his songs as background music for her highly-anticipated fashion show during New York Fashion Week.

Daily News reports that Drake attended the star-studded event as well and sat next to fashion editor Anna Wintour and Gigi Hadid.

Keep in mind, though that Drake has shown up to support Serena Williams on a number of occasions – not just over the past few months.

For instance, he was in the stands when Serena faced Samantha Stosur on Day 7 of the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank on August 14, 2011.

However, according to E! Online, Drake also made headlines earlier the same month with a flirtatious tweet that he sent Serena Williams about their own upcoming match.

Long before the rumors of Drake and Serena Williams hit the web, Serena was romantically linked to another award-winning rapper: Common.

When asked by TMZ to share his feelings about the rumored couple, Common did not hesitate to wish his former girlfriend well back in August.

“Serena is a friend of mine. As long as she’s happy, I’m good. That’s my friend. We dated. That’s been done a long time ago. Now we’re friends. She’s doing super good on the tennis. As long as she happy, I’m good.”

Whether Drake and Serena Williams are friends or a lot more than that has yet to be revealed officially. However, it is at least good to see that they are willing to show up and support one another regardless of who is watching or taking photos at the time.
