‘WWE NXT TakeOver: Respect’ WWE Network Results — Updated LIVE!

On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, WWE will present WWE NXT TakeOver: Respect, live at 8 p.m./5 p.m. ETPT at the NXT Arena in Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. For those who are unable to attend it live, it will be available for viewing exclusively on the award-winning WWE Network.

However, the Inquisitr understands not everyone in the WWE Universe (or wrestling community in general) will be able to spend three hours to watch WWE NXT TakeOver: Respect. Therefore, results will be presented live as they become available.

Similar to past WWE pay-per-views, the WWE is providing one courtesy to those who do not have a paid subscription to the WWE Network. Thirty minutes before the special event, WWE NXT TakeOver: Respect Pre-Show will take place, which will include a panel of WWE personalities and commentators consisting of Renee Young, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, and WWE Hall of Famer Lita discussing the matches in WWE NXT TakeOver: Respect. It can be viewed not only on the WWE Network, but also on WWE’s official website, WWE App, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, Pheed, and Pinterest one hour before the actual pay-per-view.

Prior to this, the Inquisitr reported on the latest news leading up to WWE NXT TakeOver: Respect, which may or may not assist in fan predictions on what will take place.

  • It is believed that the current WWE NXT champion, Finn Bálor, will turn heel during his match.
  • Hideo Itami is teased to make his return to action after taking time off for a shoulder injury.
  • Inspired by NXT, WWE wants Sasha Banks to be hunting for the WWE Divas Championship and will have her against Charlotte. Creative wants this pursuit in WWE to have the same feel as NXT.

Nevertheless, the following match card shown below is what is provided at this moment, and can change for any reason. It should also be noted that four of the ten matches are taped to broadcast on a future episode of NXT and will not be covered below. Besides that, the Inquisitr will update this article with the latest results as they become available live!

Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe vs. The Mechanics (Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Semi-Finals Match) — The new team of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder — known as The Mechanics — has been on a roll as of late, and it is amazing they are in the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament. They will most likely not win because they are still somewhat green, but expect tensions to grow between Bálor and Joe going into the finals match in the tournament if they win (which is highly expected).

RESULT: Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe defeat The Mechanics via pinfall after Bálor connects with a Coup de Grâce on Wilder. Bálor and Joe advance to the finals in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament.

Jason Jordan and Chad Gable vs. Baron Corbin and Rhyno (Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Semi-Finals Match) — The one thing I got out of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is that newer talent is starting to get the push they need. This is very good because more of the talent is being called up to WWE. Ergo, showing that Jordan and Gable can perform is very good for the brand. Expect Corbin and Rhyno to win this one though. They are considered two “unstoppable forces” in NXT and having them as a team was such a smart move. Also, Corbin and Rhyno had prior NXT history with Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe. The final match needs to be both entertaining and tell a story.

RESULT: Baron Corbin and Rhyno defeat Jason Jordan and Chad Gable via pinfall after Corbin connects with the End of Days on Gable. Corbin and Rhyno advance to the finals in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament.

Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe vs. Baron Corbin and Rhyno (Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals Match) — The winners of the two semi-finals matches will face off in the finals match. Since the finals match has to sell, expect it to be Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe versus Baron Corbin and Rhyno. Who knows how long this one will last given the fact both were in previous matches before. However, if there are going to be any major story lines happening (especially that huge rumor of Bálor turning heel) it will happen at this match.

RESULT: Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe defeat Baron Corbin and Rhyno via pinfall after Bálor connects with a Coup de Grâce on Rhyno. Bálor and Joe become the inaugural winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament.

Apollo Crews vs. Tyler Breeze — To be frank, I am hoping Tyler Breeze wins this one. Unfortunately, Breeze may lose because he’s become a jobber for NXT talent as of late despite his decent promo skills and gimmick. Also, it is unsure if Breeze will eventually make the jump to the main roster. He’s always been in developmental hell and something tells me he will stay there because his character can’t seem to win over a large crowd. Ergo, Crews will most likely win this one too. If Breeze is going to win anything of significance, he needs to beat a top-tier wrestler in NXT.

RESULT: Apollo Crews defeats Tyler Breeze via pinfall after a Spin-Out Powerbomb.

Asuka vs. Dana Brooke — For those who don’t know who Asuka is, she is a phenomenal female wrestler in Asia, especially Japan. Known among the Indie circuit as Kana, Asuka will make her NXT in-ring debut tonight. I really do hope that Dana Brooke improved her wrestling though because her initial matches weren’t so good per se. Unfortunately, I am thinking Asuka will somewhat carry this match. Also, unlike Jushin Thunder Liger, Asuka is technically signed to NXT so she may actually lose.

RESULT: Asuka defeats Dana Brooke via submission with the Asuka Lock (Cross Face Chicken Wing).

Bayley vs. Sasha Banks (30-Minute Iron [Wo]Man Match for the NXT Women’s Championship) — History is being made tonight for both NXT and WWE. As a matter of fact, they are making history in wrestling in general. Never before in a major wrestling promotion in the United States has there been a women’s iron man match. Ergo, Bayley and Sasha Banks will be put to the test on stamina and endurance. They will also set the standard for future Iron Man matches featuring women too. Since it is believed WWE will be pushing Sasha Banks to take on Charlotte for the WWE Divas Championship, she will most likely lose.

RESULT: Will Update By Decisions throughout 30 minutes.

  1. Sasha Banks earns first decision via pinfall after an eye gouge. (Bayley: 0, Sasha Banks: 1)
  2. Bayley earns second decision via pinfall after a Bayley-To-Belly. (Bayley: 1, Sasha Banks: 1)
  3. Sasha Banks earns third decision via countout. (Bayley: 1, Sasha Banks: 2)
  4. Bayley earns fourth decision via pinfall after countering a Boston Crab. (Bayley: 2, Sasha Banks 2)
  5. Bayley earns the fifth decision via submission with a Rings of Saturn. (Bayley: 3, Sasha Banks 2)
