‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Spoilers: Glenn & Maggie Doomed?

The Walking Dead Season 6 is upon us, and everyone wants to know what’s in store for the hit AMC series as it returns. Spoilers for the show reveal that Rick and his group are in for another wild ride, and there could be trouble ahead for everyone’s favorite couple, Glenn and Maggie.

According to a report from Unreality TV, Glenn and Maggie may struggle during The Walking Dead Season 6. It was obvious in Season 5 that the show was pulling away from the couple’s storyline, after previous seasons when their love was one of the only hopeful things about the show. Now, fans are worried that the marriage of Glenn and Maggie may be torn apart during the course of the new season.

As one of the only a few remaining original cast members, the character of Glenn has been rumored to bite the dust multiple times. However, as the show continues season after season, there is an uneasy feeling among fans that Glenn’s death could be drawing near.

As many fans know, in the comic book series Glenn Rhee is killed by a character named Negan, who is a nasty man who likes to wield a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire that he’s named Lucille. While Negan hasn’t been introduced on The Walking Dead yet, the general feeling is that he’s coming soon, and with his arrival, Glenn’s exit is right around the corner. Latinos Post reports that a casting call has already gone out for the character of Negan, leaving everyone excited and worried about Glenn’s fate.

The one bright spot for TWD fans is that the show has been known to switch character deaths around from the comic book to the television series. For example, in the comic books it was Tyreese, not Hershel, who was beheaded by the Governor. This means that a different character could be killed by Negan, leaving Glenn safe to be with Maggie once more.

No matter what happens to Glenn, there is no denying that the character of Maggie has changed over the course of the last few seasons. She’s seen a lot of heartbreak, including her only family members, Hershel and Beth, who were killed in very violent ways. Now that she’s at Alexandria she’s studying under leader Deanna, and she could prove herself to be more of an asset in the coming episodes.

Actress Lauren Cohen, who plays Maggie on The Walking Dead, recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly that there is a shift in Maggie this season.

“She’s a slow birth, you know? She’s kind of done what she’s wanted to do, which is to protect her family. Now, she’s learning how to be in more of a position of leadership like Deanna’s character. What I’ve really enjoyed is that she’s learning while you don’t see her, and then she gets to come back and acquire more authority and apply more guidance and help.”

“You see Rick leaning on her a lot more this year, and that’s been able to happen because she’s gotten observe from the periphery. I think that’s echoed in how much we see these characters. I mean definitely I would like to do more, but I think that we actually learn more from the show by getting this the big scope or the big picture. I think we’ve learned more about the characters by seeing them in the context of the entire landscape.”

It should be interesting to see what The Walking Dead Season 6 holds for both Maggie and Glenn and if they can get through it alive and together.
