Louis Tomlinson: Is One Direction Star Set For Cross Atlantic TV Stardom?

Louis Tomlinson and his One Direction band-mates will soon be heading for an extended break from the boy-band. Speculation has been rife for months as to what Tomlinson and his pals will do when One Direction go on their temporary split after they complete the promotion for their new album. Louis has not made his plans clear as yet, but there are clues as to what his future may hold.

Unless you have been living on another planet, you will know that, early in the new year, Tomlinson will be undertaking the most important job of all, fatherhood. Louis and Briana Jungwirth are set to become parents and, Tomlinson has admitted that he is excited by the prospect of becoming the first One Direction parent. As reported in Inquisitr last week it seems that Louis is taking his role as a dad very seriously. Whilst Tomlinson has made no public statement about his future with Briana, he has recently introduced her to his family. Briana has been spotted hanging out with Tomlinson’s mother and sister at recent One Direction shows in the UK.

Back in April, Billboard reported that Louis has started up his own record label and that X-Factor boss Simon Cowell was mentoring him in that side of the music business. At the time Louis revealed that he was keen to uncover new talent.

“This is something I’ve wanted to do for some time. To be given the opportunity to potentially give new artists a platform is an incredible feeling. I hope to sign some really exciting new artists down the line.”

It seems that Simon Cowell has a soft spot for Tomlinson. Cowell turned to Louis to help him out when the Uk version of X-Factor was suffering from poor ratings. The Mirror reports that Tomlinson will act as mentor for some of the acts on this years show during the “judges houses” part of the show. It is also widely believed that Louis will be a judge on next year’s show. Tomlinson could even replace Cowell on the show.

It seems possible that Cowell has other plans for Tomlinson, this time in the U.S., as a number of outlets are reporting that Louis is being lined up to replace Howard Stern on America’s Got Talent. According to Hollywood Life Cowell is keen to attract a younger audience to the U.S. talent show and he sees Tomlinson as the ideal candidate to appeal to a younger demographic. The gossip outlet claims that Cowell is “using Louis’ appearance on X-Factor as a “sort of screen test” to see if he could fill Stern’s slot.”

As seems to invariably be the case Hollywood Life quoted an “unnamed source” so the story may not be reliable. That said working in the U.S. may well be an attractive proposition for Tomlinson as he is sure to want to spend time closer to his new baby. According to Unreality TV if Tomlinson bombs on X-Factor Cowell will take Sterns place himself.

In other One Direction news, Liam Payne has laughed off claims that he and Tomlinson had an angry spat during a show last weekend. Video emerged that appeared to show Louis and Liam shoving each other around during a show in Manchester. A spokesperson for One Direction claimed that Louis and Liam were simply engaged in a bit of horseplay, but some people seem keen to blow things out of proportion.

The BBC engaged two body language experts who claim that the video footage suggests that whilst Louis and Liam may have been fooling around at first the exchange turned to real anger.
