The teen reportedly died in his home of natural causes, and Caleb’s family announced his passing in an Instagram message on Friday.

“[Thursday] at 7:08PM Caleb Logan Bratayley passed away of natural causes,” his mother wrote. “This has come as a shock to all of us. Words cannot describe how much we will miss him.

“His incredibly funny, loving and wonderful spirit made us all fall in love with him as a YouTuber, friend, brother and son,” she continued. “We know you tune in to watch each day and eagerly anticipate new videos, but ask that you bear with us while we deal with this tragedy as a family. Please help us honor our, baked potato.”

While many fans speculated on Caleb Logan’s cause of death, his family confirmed on Monday night that it was due to an undiagnosed medical condition.

“Caleb’s death has raised many questions about how and why this could happen to a seemingly healthy boy. Sadly, tests have confirmed today that Caleb passed away from an undetected medical condition.”

The family originally had released few other details. leading many to speculate on the possible cause of death for Caleb Logan Brataley. Hollywood Life consulted Dr. Bruce Lee, who noted that the most common causes of death for children between the ages of 10 and 14 are accident, cancer, suicide, homicide, birth defects, and heart disease.

Some of those have already been ruled out, the outlet noted. A medical report confirmed that Caleb Logan Brataley did not die of suicide or homicide, as there was “no foul play” in his death.

The outlet noted that a heart attack could be a likely cause of death for Caleb Logan.

“Finally, there’s the final possibility: Heart diseases/cardiac arrhythmia. ‘This could go unnoticed and mainly occurs in males that just automatically drop dead while playing sports,’ Dr. Lee says. ‘People can develop it or are born with it, and it’s one of the leading causes of sudden death. Arrhythmia means the electrical pathways in the heart do not function normally. If the pathways are disturbed, then the heart doesn’t pump we’ll, so less blood goes to the body and brain. It can be difficult to detect because one minute the heart is beating normally, and the next it’s beating irregularly. When someone dies from arrhythmia, they could first have a shortness of breath, then they may get dizzy and pass out and never wake up.'”

Adding to the mystery is the fact that Caleb Logan appeared in some of the family’s recent videos, looking healthy with no obvious signs of any health problems. Caleb was also a talented athlete for his young age, excelling in baseball and seeming healthy while doing it. In one video he even shows off a shelf of trophies, including one with his nickname, “Wheels.”

“This says Caleb ‘Wheels’ because I was really fast,” the boy says in one video. “That’s why they called me Wheels.”

Caleb Logan was also active with his family, often attending conventions for YouTube stars.
