Johnny Depp Jams Out With The Black Keys At 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Cinema legend Johnny Depp was honored with the Generation Award at last night’s 21st annual MTV Movie Awards, but the presentation was anything but ordinary. Before giving his acceptance speech to the star studded audience, Depp showed off one of his other talents by playing guitar with The Black Keys.

Depp joined The Black Keys to perform the band’s hit song “Gold on the Ceiling,” and the performance was every bit as cool as it sounds–as is befitting for an actor like Depp.

“This is quite an amazing honor, truly,” Depp said after jamming out with The Black Keys. It’s like the Get-Out-Of-The-Business Award, ‘All right, you’ve done too much.'” Depp added: “And it’s an honor to be presented by these two legends, Steve and Joe, and these up and coming legends, [The Black Keys], so thank you very much.”

Last night wasn’t the first time picked up a guitar, as evidenced by his impressive performance. Just recently, Depp joined Marilyn Manson at the recent Golden God awards to perform Manson’s rendition of “Sweet Dreams (Are made Of This),” and, before that, Depp recorded a song with Oasis.
