Aaron

Aaron (played by Ross Marquand) spent most of Season 5 of The Walking Dead recruiting Rick’s group and roaming around outside Alexandria with Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus). Considering the friendship that as arisen between Ross and Daryl, what will happen if a divide occurs in Alexandria like the season 6 trailer is hinting at? Which side will Aaron choose?

According to an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Aaron is getting closer to other members of Rick’s group in Season 6, in particular, Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan), which could indicate he is more partial to Team Rick than Team Alexandria. However, for Aaron, he has seen a little of the outside world, more so than many of the Alexandrian citizens, so he is aware that you need people like Rick’s group on your side — especially when that massive herd of walkers hits that Greg Nicotero suggests is the biggest herd in The Walking Dead history. With this potential threat, Aaron realizes that Rick’s group needs to be supported and steps up to the plate in order to get everyone else to understand this.

“At the very beginning of season 6, and then throughout this season, you’ll see a shift in Aaron where he goes from being polite and very deferential to really kind of taking a stronger leadership role and deciding, this is what we need to do. We need to back Rick. We need to be more active, and we need to get really honest and serious with ourselves about how we defend ourselves.”

Deanna Monroe

In the Season 5 finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead, Deanna Monroe (Tovah Feldshuh) saw the death of her husband and as a result of this ordered the execution of his killer. This will affect Deanna moving forward into Season 6 of The Walking Dead. “We have a woman transitioning from statesman to warrior,” Tovah Feldshuh told Entertainment Weekly. Deanna will not struggle long with her order to kill another human though as she realizes that there is more at stake than just the justice system within Alexandria. The actress also hints that something will happen to her remaining son during Season 6 of The Walking Dead, which will make her trust her instincts more than using the words that carried her so far from before the zombie apocalypse and into the time she spent in Alexandria before Rick’s group arrived.

In the comic book series The Walking Dead is based on, Deanna Monroe is actually Douglas Monroe and that character shoots Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) in the eye in during a war involving Alexandria. So how close with this storyline play out in Season 6? Her interview with EW gives no details on this event away at all, so fans will have to watch to find out.

Jessie Anderson

In the Season 5 finale of The Walking Dead, it was Jessie’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) husband, Pete (Corey Brill) that murdered Deanna’s husband, Reg. Considering there were tentative feeling developing between her and her husband’s killer, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), how with this play out in Season 6 of The Walking Dead? Alexandra Breckenridge tells Entertainment Weekly that Rick killing her husband has less to do with her emotions than protecting her family in Season 6.

“When [Pete] dies, she feels immense guilt because she feels relieved, but she also is mourning his death. It’s so complicated for her that any interest that she had for Rick in that moment, it’s not her main focus. You know what I mean? She’s just sort of in the place where she knows she’s needs to become stronger to protect her family.”

The Walking Dead returns to AMC for Season 6 on Sunday, October 11, 2015.
