WWE Rumors, Spoilers: Huge Title Change To Take Place Tonight For Madison Square Garden Special

Tonight, WWE Network will present a live special from Madison Square Garden, and it has some truly great matches on the card. Aside from Brock Lesnar’s return to MSG after a 10-year absence, there are three huge titles matches scheduled. Now, it’s being rumored that even though this isn’t a Pay-per-View or television event, one of those titles are quite possibly going to change hands.

John Cena will be defending his United States Championship against Seth Rollins (the WWE Champion) in a steel cage. Chris Jericho will look to take the Intercontinental Title from Kevin Owens. The Dudley Boyz, New York’s own, will be taking on The New Day for the WWE Tag-Team Championship as well.

As WrestleZone reported, the card does have only six matches on it, but it’s obvious that WWE is really trying to make this a huge deal. They want their live WWE Network special to have a big event feel and want them to become a giant selling point for the network.

The Dudley Boyz faced off with The New Day at Night of Champions last month and came up short on winning the titles. Now, the feud has continued and they’re getting another crack at them and Cageside Seats believes that the tag titles are indeed going to change hands tonight at Madison Square Garden.

“WWE may do a title change in the New Day-Dudley Boyz match tonight. Apparently they’ve gone back and forth on the idea due to the want to keep the Network specials with an ‘anything can happen’ feel.”

Now, there is no doubt that The New Day are quite possibly the very best thing happening in professional wrestling right now. Their in-ring skills are fantastic and their charisma is absolutely incredible. They know how to entertain like almost no-one else and the titles aren’t necessary for them to be over, but it’s great to have them around their waists.

Who doesn’t love a trombone?

Title changes are fun and enjoyable and are made even more special when they are unexpected. Rumored or not, seeing the Dudley Boyz capture the WWE Tag Team Titles tonight at Madison Square Garden would be a big-time happening.

It was also speculated that the match could be turned into a “Tables Match” or that one would happen in the future between these two teams. If the Dudleys win the titles tonight, then you can be sure that a “Get The Tables/Save The Tables” rematch will take place at Hell In A Cell later this month.

If WWE wants to give their live network specials and even bigger feel to them, then fans knowing a title change can take place, will do it. Making matters even better is that the Dudley Boyz would be doing it in front of a New York City crowd and winning their unprecedented tenth WWE Tag Team Championship.

Should the title change actually take place, those watching the free month of the WWE Network won’t want to miss out on future changes. That is a win-win for WWE and allows them to bring in more subscribers.

The Dudley Boyz are going to win the tag titles at some point or another on what is being seen as their last big run. It might as well happen in front of a huge crowd and against a team like The New Day who is both loved and hated.

The Madison Square Garden live special on WWE Network tonight is really looking more like a big-time Pay-Per-View, and that’s a good thing. The Dudley Boyz may very well capture the WWE Tag Team Titles from The New Day, and that means sad trombone playing and a huge shocker.
