Adam Sandler Dead? Latest Internet Hoax Kills ‘Hotel Transylvania 2’ Star

Let’s get this out of the way: Adam Sandler is not dead. Instead, the actor has become the latest victim of an internet hoax that prematurely reveals celebrities are dead.

Over the last few days, Twitter and Facebook have been lit up with comments and posts that have insisted that the Hotel Transylvania 2 actor passed on. However, each of these proved to be false.

The news of Adam Sandler’s alleged passing first emerged from a website entitled Linkbeef. They reported that the actor and comedian had been found dead in his home at around noon on Monday afternoon. Sandler was supposedly found “unconscious and not breathing at his home near Tiburton, north of San Francisco.”

They then insisted that Sandler had been battling “severe depression” for several years, before adding that he had been pronounced dead by Marin County Police in California after they’d responded to an emergency phone call.

LinkBeef then tried to enhance their story by adding a police statement, which explained, “At this time, the Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made.”

Then Jackie Sandler, Adam’s wife, who is the mother to his two children, Sadie Madison Sander and Sunny Madeline Sander, was even quoted by the website, revealing that she was “utterly heartbroken.”

Her statement continued, “This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken.”

She then insisted that she wanted Adam Sandler to be remembered for all of the joy that he brought into the world.

“On behalf of Adam’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief,” she added. “As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Adam’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”

Internet users soon began to mourn and grieve together as the fake news of Adam Sandler’s death started to permeate across the world wide web. They shared their condolences, which included the following posts.

However, while the website responsible for starting the story didn’t get reprimanded for starting the rumor, there was one individual who did get in trouble.

While there were those that were furious that, after the news James Earl Jones, Betty White, and Bill Nye had died, the internet continued to kill people that were still alive and well.

Meanwhile, Adam Sandler’s most recent film, Hotel Transylvania 2, is still in cinemas, and it has already amassed $84.9 million after just one week at the box office.
