‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For Oct. 2, Immolation Fists For Titans

The rotation of The Taken King Exotics for each of Destiny‘s three classes continues with Xur’s visit to the Tower for the weekend of October 2. The mysterious vendor has the Immolation Fists for Titans, while Hunters and Warlocks get Year Two upgrades of older pieces.

This weekend, Xûr can be found just outside of the Speaker’s building next to the railing overlooking the city. Turn left as soon as you spawn in the Tower and run straight to the north part of the social space. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, October 4. As soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET / 2 a.m. PT, he will be gone.

There is no Exotic weapon on sale from Xur this week. Instead, Destiny players can roll the dice with an Exotic Helmet Engram. The Legacy Engram is still a skip at 31 Strange Coins for an older Exotic weapon, but at least the armor on sale are all high quality items.

Here is what is available for sale and upgrade from Xûr this weekend. Thanks again to DestinyDB for the Exotic information below.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Immolation Fists

Destiny - Immolation Fists (PlayStation, Xbox)

These Titan Sunbreaker specific gauntlets grant the “Explosive Pyre” perk from the sub-class’ skill tree for free so that enemies explode when killed by the Hammer of Sol. This frees players up to use the “Flameseeker” or “Fleetfire” perks instead. The former turns on tracking for the Hammer of Sol while the latter gives an agility boost for any kills with the Sunbreaker’s fire.

The random perks with the Immolation Fists offered by Xûr include the choice between “Impact Induction” and “Rain Blows” along with “Hand Cannon Loader” and “Shotgun Loader.”

The 45 Intellect / 40 Strength split stat is decent enough and this is the first time these gauntlets have appeared in Xûr’s inventory. The free perk gives the Immolation Fists quite a bit of utility to Sunbreaker Titans, so Destiny players will want to try them out.

Celestial Nighthawk

The Celestial Nighthawk is a Gunslinger Hunter specific Exotic helmet that gives the Golden Gun a single shot with six times the normal damage. The “Big Game” perk is fun to use in PVE and helpful against tougher enemies that barely flinch from a normal, single Golden Gun shot. It is capable of staggering high level bosses, including Oryx himself.

The random perks assigned to Celestial Nighthawk from Xûr’s inventory include the choice between “Ashes to Assets” or “Second Thoughts.” The first gives bonus super energy with grenade kills while the second gives bonus energy from special weapon kills. Getting the super energy back more quickly is always valuable, especially when you only get one shot from it with the Celestial Nighthawk.

The 50 Intellect / 51 Strength stat roll is strong on its own, but can be boosted to use more intellect. This is a must have armor piece for Hunters.

Heart of the Praxic Fire

Heart of the Praxic Fire is to Sunsinger Warlocks what Obsidian Mind is to Voidwalker Warlocks. Its “Praise the Sun” perk decreases all cooldowns while the Radiance Super is active. This turns “Sunbros” into grenade-chucking, orb-generating machines.

The random perks offer a choice between more Scout Rifle or Shotgun ammo and increased Void Burn Defense or increased armor altogether when using a Solar-based subclass.

The 63 Intellect / 65 Discipline is a high-stat roll. These were a must have during Destiny Year One and that has not changed at all for Year Two.
