Honey Boo Boo Raps In Her New Music Video [Video]

Reality TV star Alana Thompson, widely known as Honey Boo Boo, is making headlines with the release of her first music video, People reports.

The song is called “Movin Up” and the music video, with assistance from viral video artist Adam Barta, is a family affair. Alana’s sister, Lauryn Shannon (a.k.a Pumpkin), is featured as a vocalist, and Sugar Bear and Mama June Shannon make cameos. The video was released September 30 on GR Media’s YouTube channel, the same company credited with creating music videos for Mackenzie Mckee and Patricia Krencil (a.k.a. Tan Mom), both from the MTV reality show Teen Mom.

The lyrics, which Alana both raps and sings, tell of Honey Boo Boo’s rise to fame. For those who haven’t followed her, the 10-year-old reality star rose to fame after appearing on a show called Toddlers and Tiaras.

“Started out as a pageant queen/Then on TV doing my thing/Now movin’ up in the world/New fun times with my girls,” Alana sings.

In the chorus, the 10-year-old urges listeners to “Do the Honey Boo Boo Bop,” while Mama June, Pumpkin, and Sugar Bear are seen in the video performing dance moves.

According to Hollywood Life, the song not only describes Alana’s rise to fame, but also the fall from grace of Honey Boo Boo and her family.

“I’m the princess of this castle / Mama June queen of the house / Went from something to nothing / I holler and scream and shout,” she raps/sings.

Alana’s own TLC show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, was abruptly taken off the air almost a year ago when reports surfaced that Mama June was dating Mark McDaniel, a man convicted of molesting her daughter, Anna Marie Cardwell (a.k.a Chickadee).

Shannon said that she was unaware of the sexual abuse, but People reports that Anna Marie said she told her mother.

“A week or so after it happened, I talked to Mama and she was upset, crying and saying, ‘I don’t believe you, I don’t believe you, why would you do this to me?’ And I was like, ‘Mama, he did that to me and I can’t do anything about it. You were never there to see it. You were always at work.’ “

Anna Marie soon after moved in with her grandmother. She moved back in with her mother about the same time Alana’s show premiered.

“Me and Mama realized we needed to put this behind us and get our relationship back on track and that’s what we did and that’s what we have been doing,” Cardwell said.

When allegations arose that Shannon was seeing McDaniel again, Cardwell said she didn’t want to believe it.

“My whole body believes that she is telling the truth, but my mind is going back and forth from – you know, hey, she’s telling the truth or she’s not telling the truth, but most of me believes her,” Cardwell continued.

Anna Marie, who has a 2-year-old daughter, also said that if the accusations were true, she wouldn’t let Mama June near the child.

“I would not let her see Kaitlyn unless Mark is out of the picture or away because I don’t want him nowhere near my child,” Cardwell said. “Nowhere close to her.”

Since the show was canceled, it appears that Mama June has moved on. There are even reports of her returning to her former husband, Sugar Bear, who also appears in Alana’s music video. Cardwell, however, did not appear in the video. Hollywood Life says there are claims that she is owed roughly $201,000 by Sugar Bear and Mama June for unpaid appearances on the TLC show.
