Nicholas Brendon Arrested For Choking Girlfriend, ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ Actor Has Had Troubled Year

Nicholas Brendon, who is mostly known for his work portraying Xander Harris on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, has been arrested for allegedly choking his girlfriend while in New York.

Police officials have confirmed that the actor was arrested for the domestic violence incident, which unfolded in a hotel in Saratoga Springs, New York, on Wednesday evening.

Police officials have confirmed that the actor choked his girlfriend during a fight, after she attempted to leave his hotel room.

Speaking to People, Bob Jillson, who works as a Investigations Lieutenant at Saratoga Springs Police Department, confirmed the incident, while adding further details to what unfolded.

“Last night around 11:30 p.m., we got called to a nice family-owned hotel in town for a reported domestic disturbance,” Jillson revealed. “We got to the room and we found a 33-year-old female there by herself, and she reported that she had been in a domestic incident with Nick, and he had subsequently left before we got there. She did not have any physical injuries that we were aware of.”

The woman who had allegedly been beaten by Nicholas Brendon explained that she only visited him at the hotel so that she could return a variety of items and personal belongings to him.

However, things took a turn for the worse when she tried to leave. This is when Nicholas Brendon tried to stop her, which he did by taking her car keys from her, before she then smashed her cell phone.

After their argument, Nicholas Brendon then left the hotel, only to eventually be found a few blocks away by police after the incident had been reported.

Jillson went on to add that Brendon was incarcerated without any further problems, stating, “He was placed under arrest without any incident.”

After being imprisoned by local authorities, 44-year-old Brendon spent the night in jail. He has since been charged with two counts of criminal mischief, as well as one count of obstruction of breathing. Both of these are classed as misdemeanors. Brendon has also been charged with a felony, which is for robbery.

On Monday, Nicholas Brendon took to Twitter to reveal that he had “anxiety,” while his posts have also detailed his fight with depression.

Brendon also wrote, “I’m not doing negative s*** on my twitter anymore. Let’s keep it positive. #lotsofloveonly #kickingdepressionintheballsack #huglife.”

Nicholas Brendon, who has starred on Criminal Minds since 2007 as Kevin Lynch, has been arrested and involved in a number of incidents throughout 2015.

Over the last few days, police officials have visited Brendon’s home, with the reason being listed as unspecified mental health issues. Meanwhile, back in October, 2014, Brendon was arrested in Boise, Idaho, after participating at the Tree City Comic Con. This was for Malicious Injury To Property and Resisting or Obstructing Officers.

Then in February, 2015, Brendon was arrested again by Fort Lauderdale by police for allegedly destroying his hotel room, while he also refused to pay the bill. In March, 2015 Brendon was again incarcerated after he destroyed a hotel room and then demanded to be given a better one, all because he is a “TV star.”

Meanwhile, back in June, Brendon decided to enter rehabilitation for alcoholism, depression, and substance abuse, where he stayed for several weeks as he sought to battle his demons.
