Taylor Swift Denies Mansion Rumors, But Reports Say She Did Buy It

Taylor Swift has been hounded by rumors when it comes to her relationship with Calvin Harris and what properties she’s purchasing. But the singer is trying hard to convince her fans that she’s just living her life on the stage.

Rumors have been circulating about the state of Taylor Swift’s relationship status with Calvin Harris. The couple, known as “Tayvin” to their fans, hasn’t been photographed together for some time, causing some to wonder and reports to claim that their relationship is doomed. There are also other reports that claim that both Swift, 25, and Harris, 31, are in a hurry to get married and have children. So, what’s the truth? Swift spilled the tea on Twitter to let her fans know what’s up in her personal life!

Taylor simply tweeted on Monday, September 29, “What the press says I’m doing: Buying a Bev Hills mansion, getting married in an English castle, What I’m doing: Playing a show in St. Louis.”

Well, that confirms the marriage rumors. But does that mean that Swift and Harris are on the outs? The “Wildest Dreams” singer denied the wedding and pregnancy rumors, but she forgot to deny those breakup rumors.

The engagement rumors broke as early as this spring. Although Taylor and Calvin have only been dating since February, a report in OK! Magazine (via the Hollywood Life) said that the DJ has plans to pop the question before the end of October. The engagement rumors picked up again when Calvin was reportedly been spotted ring shopping at XIV Karats in Beverly Hills around September. An alleged insider at the jewelry store said that the “How Deep Is Your Love” producer asked for something special for his famous girlfriend.

“He said he wanted something ‘very special for Taylor.’ He was asking about the best cuts and eyed a ring that was $1.4 million! He was clearly eager to get the perfect rock, no matter the cost.”

Another report via Variety claims that Taylor Swift also slammed down $25 million in cash for a two-acre home in Beverly Hills, which was previously owned by movie mogul Samuel Goldwyn’s family. According to the listing, the house has 11,000 square feet, six bedrooms, five bathrooms, along with a “stately galleria entrance, resplendent formal dining room, 35-millimeter screening room, and a kitchen to satisfy the most demanding cook.”

Sounds like the perfect home for Taylor, who loves to bake and cook for her famous friends. But the singer said that she has no plans to purchase the Beverly Hills mansion anytime soon. But a new report in TMZ says that they looked into the tax records, and the paper trail leads to Taylor’s doorstep. The celebrity gossip site did their research by checking out the property records, and noticed that on Thursday, October 1, the title changed to a company headquartered in Nashville, but the address is linked to Taylor Swift’s Nashville address. Hmm, the plot thickens!

This is an interesting find, since a recent report via the New York Post mentioned that Swift loves to move closer to her boyfriends. Harris currently has a luxury apartment in the Hollywood Hills, which he purchased for a cool $7 million. The news site also did their research on Google Maps and found that Swift’s new home is about 2.3 miles, or eight minutes, away from Harris.

Does that mean Taylor Swift would lie to her own fans? She has lied about the 1989 tracklist being accurate when it leaked on the internet. Or, does it mean that the pop star has so much money that she’s not aware when her employees are buying $25 million homes in her name? Maybe Swift didn’t want the public to know she purchased the home, so she can avoid both the paparazzi and her fans. Or, maybe she doesn’t want to be known as the singer who buys homes next her boyfriends.

During her 2013 interview with Vanity Fair, Taylor fought back at rumors that claim she buys a new home every time she has a new boyfriend.

“People say that about me, that I apparently buy houses near every boy I like — that’s a thing that I apparently do. If I like you I will apparently buy up the real-estate market just to freak you out so you leave me.”
