Even though Survivor Series hasn’t arrived yet, the rumors for WrestleMania 32 are beginning to swirl around the WWE Universe. Normally, the moment after SummerSlam, proposed programs for WrestleMania are discussed. One big rumor began on the Stone Cold Podcast, but that will not come to fruition. When Paul Heyman was the guest on Steve Austin’s podcast on the WWE Network, Heyman proposed a match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32.
Austin began to cut a promo on Heyman and Lesnar, thus alluding to a future match with Stone Cold and the Beast Incarnate. Unfortunately, Austin has repeatedly said that he isn’t wrestling at WrestleMania 32. Recently, a rumor with four potential opponents for Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 came out, and Austin was on the list. The Texas Rattlesnake responded to this rumor.
“You can take my name off the rumor mill as a Brock Lesnar opponent at WM32. Bull**** reporting,” Steve Austin remarked.
Keeping in mind that Austin repeatedly shoots down rumors of a return, something should happen with Austin at WrestleMania 32. He may not wrestle, but the show is at AT&T Stadium, which is not far away from Austin’s hometown. That leads into the new rumor about a huge main event at WrestleMania 32. According to Ringside News and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, and Roman Reigns may headline WrestleMania once again.
“According those close to the situation, they knew nothing about a Austin vs. Lesnar match for WrestleMania next year and Vince was very upset because he knew the match would never take place.
“The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that because WWE is trying to make this upcoming WrestleMania event the biggest ever, Austin would have some sort of role heading into the event.
“Regarding Lesnar, Meltzer speculated that because WWE has already done Brock vs. Seth Rollins in the past, and they still want Roman Reigns to be pushed towards the World Title picture, WWE could put all three men in a triple threat match for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 32.”
Is having the same three people in the main event of WrestleMania 32 the right idea? It’s all going to come down to the storyline leading into the big night in Texas. If it’s written and booked correctly, then including those WWE superstars may be the proper idea. Brock Lesnar’s spot should include Dean Ambrose, but that match may involve Chris Jericho for Ambrose.
Everybody in the WWE Universe wants to see the Shield in a triple-threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. Brock Lesnar doesn’t need to be in the main event or even fight for the championship. If Triple H and the Rock happens, then Lesnar won’t be able to face Rock. The WWE may want Lesnar to face for the title so that the media exposure is present.
Another match could headline the docket for WrestleMania 32. According to What Culture, the Undertaker’s opponent has the potential to be the new member of the Wyatt Family. Braun Strowman is rumored to be a potential foil against the Undertaker. Thinking logically, this match makes the slightest of senses.
Reason being, Strowman is a new man the WWE is putting over immensely. Secondly, both are big guys, and Strowman won’t allow Taker to do frog splashes or outside dives. It would be reminiscent of the Giant Gonzalez’s match with the Phenom.
At the current moment, the WWE has plenty of options for WrestleMania 32. They want it to be the biggest WrestleMania in history. Even though it seems like every year is the biggest year for Mania, the cast of talent WWE is trying to assemble is impressive.
