‘Teen Mom 2’ Season 7 Filming Has Begun [Report]

The Teen Mom 2 cast has reportedly began filming the seventh season of the MTV reality show. Although MTV has yet to officially announce the new season of the hit reality show, Radar Online claimed on September 30 that the cast, including Leah Messer, Kailyn Lowry, Jenelle Evans, and Chelsea Houska, were already in production on Teen Mom 2 Season 7.

“They’re in production,” a Teen Mom 2 show insider told Radar Online. “MTV is not wasting any time.”

But while the network seems to be in a hurry to get back to production and complete the seventh season of Teen Mom 2, which will reportedly include all four girls, the source said Teen Mom 2 Season 7 “isn’t likely to air until next summer.”

Throughout the sixth season of Teen Mom 2, all four girls, Messer, Lowry, Evans, and Houska have all seen major life moments.

Messer has had arguably the toughest season out of anyone. In addition to going through her second divorce, the Teen Mom 2 star and mother of three embarked on a custody battle with her first husband, Corey Simms. According to Simms, he and his wife feel Messer is hiding a drug problem, which has greatly affected her parenting abilities with their 5-year-old twins, Ali and Aleeah. In turn, Simms filed for full custody of the girls, and has been fighting Messer ever since.

In addition, Simms and his wife, Miranda, who has bickered on-screen with Messer, are expecting a child in the coming months, which they announced during an episode of Teen Mom 2 Season 6. Although Messer caused a stir towards the end of Teen Mom 2 Season 6 due to her claims of the series being scripted and set up by producers, Radar Online‘s report claims she has not been fired, as many have suspected.

Evans had a tough season, as well. Throughout Teen Mom 2 Season 6, Evans and her son’s father, Nathan Griffith, went through a number of ups and downs. At the start of this year’s Teen Mom 2, Evans and Griffith got engaged during a trip to St. Thomas for vacation. However, in the weeks that followed, their relationship saw more strain than happiness, and as Teen Mom 2 came to an end, so did their relationship.

Houska’s sixth season of Teen Mom 2 also saw ups and downs, due to her strained relationship with Adam Lind, who filed for custody of their daughter, Aubree. Luckily, however, Lind was not granted his request, and Houska continued to raise their daughter. At the same time, Houska finally saw relationship success with new boyfriend Cole DeBoer, who moved in with her and Aubree on the Teen Mom 2 finale episode.

As for Lowry, she’s been faced with tons of drama from her ex-boyfriend, Jo Rivera, the father of her young son, Isaac. Early on in the sixth season of Teen Mom 2, Rivera and his girlfriend, Vee Torres, moved to Delaware to be closer to Isaac, but while Lowry expected Rivera to be more involved, she was quickly disappointed. The former pair also went to war over child support. Although they attempted to come to an agreement out of court for the amount, Rivera wasn’t in agreement with what Lowry wanted, and told her he would never be able to support Isaac if he couldn’t first support himself.

For more of the cast, tune into the Teen Mom 2 Season 6 reunion on Thursday night at 9 p.m. on MTV.
