Derrick Rose Denies Rape Charges, Claims Ex-Girlfriend Consented To Group Sex

Derrick Rose is not having a good year.

CNN reports that Derrick Rose’s legal team filed court documents last week denying allegations that he drugged and gang-raped an unnamed woman who identified herself as the Chicago Bull star’s ex-girlfriend. An excerpt from the documents state:

The plaintiff consented to all sexual interaction and was not injured at all, and did not report, show or claim any injuries to anyone.

As previously reported in The Inquisitr, the plaintiff, named “Jane Doe” in the lawsuit, said that back in August 2013, Derrick Rose and two of his friends drugged her in the basketball superstar’s Beverly Hills apartment. A friend of the plaintiff became concerned and helped her get in a cab so she can get home to her apartment. According to the lawsuit, “Jane Doe” woke up the next day to find that Derrick Rose and his two friends have broken into her apartment where they took turns raping her.

“Jane Doe” said that her memory of the incident is hazy but that she recalls the “brutal details of the rape.” According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff didn’t call the police because she was “ashamed and embarrassed by what had happened to her” and was worried that her conservative parents would find out.

The plaintiff’s lawsuit also states that early in their relationship, Derrick has pressured her to “masturbate in front of him, allow him to have sex with her friends, and engage in group sex with strangers.” She claimed to have refused Rose’s requests and continued to date the 2011 NBA MVP until the alleged rape occurred in August 2013.

According to the lawsuit, Derrick Rose’s accuser is suing for unspecified damages. Despite the gravity of the allegations, CNN reported that the case filed by Rose’s accuser was a civil matter, not a criminal one.

According to the court documents filed by Derrick Rose’s legal team, the plaintiff consented to group sex with more than one of the three defendants on many occasions. Derrick claims that the woman invited him and two of his friends to her apartment and consented to “additional group activities later that evening.”

Rose’s defense claims that, the day after the incident, the woman exchanged friendly texts with the defendants but became upset weeks or months later when she noticed that Derrick had become unresponsive to her texts. Mark Baute, Derrick Rose’s lawyer, added that the woman became outraged when Rose didn’t reimburse her for the sex toy she used on the day of the allegations.

Derrick Rose also told reporters on Monday during Bulls media day that the allegations against him were false.

I feel like I’m on the right track as far as who I want to be at, in my life and the direction I want to go. I just feel like when you’re that focused, people try to take you down. I’m very confident that I will be proven innocent.

Back in August, Derrick Rose representative Lisa Cohen said that the Chicago Bulls star had a non-exclusive sexual relationship with the plaintiff for several years.”No complaints about Mr. Rose until various lawyers began to surface and demand that the plaintiff be paid millions of dollars,” she added.

“We have complete confidence that the case will be dismissed and that Mr. Rose will be vindicated. This lawsuit is outrageous.”

On top of the rape allegations, Derrick has another thing to worry about as he was diagnosed with orbital fracture after he got hit by an elbow in the face during practice. Rose is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday.

With Derrick Rose facing medical problems amid rape allegations, people took to Twitter to share their thoughts. The tweets range from supportive to mundane to serious to downright funny.
