Morena Baccarin, Pregnant, To Wed ‘Gotham’ Co-Star Ben McKenzie After Divorcing ‘Shocked’ Husband [Photos]

Morena Baccarin has a complicated life when it comes to relationships. One of the stars of Gotham, Morena, is pregnant. And although Baccarin wants to wed baby daddy and co-star Ben McKenzie, first she needs to divorce current hubby Austin Chick, reported Us Weekly.

The details came out in legal papers, in which Morena explained that she’s committed to her new relationship and plans to marry again.

“Also, I am 3 [and one half] months pregnant,” stated Baccarin.

Chick and Morena have one child, a son, Julius, who is 23-months-old. Also known for her role in Homeland, Baccarin is 36.

And it’s even more complicated, because Chick claims that he and Morena had not split when Baccarin and Ben conceived.

Just to toss more intrigue into the romance mix, Morena and Ben date and dwell together on the show.

Baccarin and Chick were married for almost 4 years. The 44-year-old began the divorce process by filing in June, after which Morena filed her own papers that asked for complete custody and broke the news that Baccarin was pregnant.

However, the judge decreed that although Julius will primarily remain in New York City with Baccarin, she will have joint custody with Chick, who can visit him monthly for eight-day periods.

So how does McKenzie feel about this complicated situation? Ben made it clear that he’s not trying to hide his upcoming daddy status when he retweeted his sister’s tweet.

“Couldn’t be happier for @ben_mckenzie and @missmorenab. Welcome to the family, Morena! Also…I’M GONNA BE AN AUNT.”

For Morena, however, the relationship complexities remain due to the joint custody situation, pointed out People.

While Baccarin did receive legal approval to take Julius to New York City, she still has to deal with the fallout from the pending divorce while shooting Gotham with McKenzie, 37. But the judge’s agreement that Julius can reside mainly with Morena corresponds to her desire to have the little boy reside with her.

Baccarin and Ben had succeeded in hiding their romance until they were seen together at the Emmy festivities in what looked like a very intimate togetherness.

As for director and author Chick, he has asked both that Morena pay his legal bills and provide him with spousal support.

And Austin is described as shocked by the discovery of Baccarin’s relationship, reported Fox News.

Insiders described Chick as in the dark that the Gotham co-stars’ relationship had gone from on-screen to real life.

“Austin was totally shocked when he found out about the affair,” revealed a source. “Totally blindsided. When Morena left him for Ben, Austin was devastated — completely shocked.”

And the legal papers made it clear that it’s more than a short-lived romantic fling, revealing both Baccarin’s plans to marry and her pregnancy.

When Morena was filming Deadpool in Vancouver, Ben stayed with the actress in her condominium. That filming took place from March to May, 2015.

Baccarin’s court documents revealed the fact that she had informed Chick that she believed that they should consider divorce. That conversation occurred just as her shooting of the film and visit from McKenzie occurred.

“In March, 2015, Austin and I were talking about separating as I told him I thought our marriage was not working and we should possibly divorce,” stated Morena.

Baccarin and McKenzie were shown in a photo that a fan provided to Chick, said an insider. When Austin filed for divorce, he gave “irreconcilable differences” as the reason.

As for that photo sent by the fan showing his wife with Ben, Chick questioned Morena about the picture. The insider revealed that Baccarin did not attempt to discount the picture.

“Austin confronted Morena about the photo. She didn’t deny it and said she no longer wanted to work on [their] marriage,” stated the insider.
