Coldplay’s ‘Amazing Day’ Debut Highlights Global Citizen Festival

Coldplay performed “Amazing Day” at the Global Citizen Festival, and their fans are amazed. The song is a new release by the popular band, and it was just one of the many moments that have people talking about the event held over the weekend this morning.

According to Diffuser, the Global Citizen Festival was held on Saturday, and Coldplay performed the new tune on stage after rehearsals during sound check only hours before. On stage, Martin introduced the song by saying, “This is about the wonderful things on earth.”

Footage of the performance has caused a huge reaction on the Internet since the performance. Several fans shared about the new song on their Twitter accounts, and they made their excitement about the new song clear.

Many fans are assuming that “Amazing Day” will be one of the songs featured on Coldplay’s next album titled A Full Head Of Dreams, but it is not yet known if the track will be included on the new release. In fact, one viewer commented on the video of the performance that there is “no proof that it’s off AHFOD just yet, possible that it was just a one-time Global Citizen thing.”

A release date for A Full Head Of Dreams is not even known yet. However, reports have claimed that the new album will be released this year. A fall release is still possible for the new Coldplay album. Coldplay’s last album was their 2014 release titled Ghost Stories. Sky News shared comments from a source about the new release.

“The album is almost finished and the band are keen to get it out as soon as possible. The last record was so depressing because it was about Chris’ split from Gwyneth Paltrow. But the new material is more upbeat with a pop feel. They have already finished eight tracks, which are all completely different.”

There is some bad news for fans of the band though. This next release could be their last album. Chris Martin revealed that in an interview shared by Entertainment Weekly. Martin spoke with Zane Lowe of BBC Radio 1 about the release last December.

“It’s our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it’s like the last Harry Potter book or something like that. Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something. I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing. Otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it.”

Martin also revealed that Coldplay would go on a full tour to support the new album once it is released to their fans. They only played 10 concerts for their Ghost Stories release. That could explain the quick turnaround for A Full Head Of Dreams.

The band has been working on the first music video for the upcoming album. According to Yibada, Martin revealed that the band was recording footage in Mumbai for their next music video, and it would have an “Indian” feel to it.

Ghost Stories may have had a more depressing tone because of Martin’s split from Gwyneth Paltrow, but the couple has remained close since their split. In fact, Paltrow celebrated her birthday a bit early on Saturday by sitting in the front row while Martin performed, according to People Magazine. Paltrow had the couple’s two children with her at the event, and the magazine reported that Paltrow and the children were seen dancing during the performance of “A Sky Full Of Stars.” Paltrow turned 43 on Sunday.

Martin’s son Moses made a special request of his father too. He asked his dad to perform a duet with Ariana Grande, and that duet was another highlight of the Global Citizen Festival.

The pair performed a song that was released on her latest album titled “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart.” The song was written by Harry Styles from One Direction. Fans were happy about the performance. One user on YouTube commented the video of the duet with “Princess Ariana Grande & Coldplay SLAYED that performance!” Another user called it a “dream collaboration.”

It is clear that Coldplay fans still love the band, and they are ready for the new album to drop. What did you think of Coldplay’s appearance at the Global Citizen Festival? Are you a fan of the new song?
