Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly And Megyn Kelly Experience Slight Ratings Rebound

Last week, Bill O’Reilly and Megyn Kelly’s ratings dropped, slightly and it was thought that this was because of the Republican debate on CNN. This week, when averaging ratings each night for this past week on Zap2It, both Kelly and O’Reilly have experienced a slight rebound

Bill O’Reilly averaged 2.76 million viewers this week. His biggest night was Wednesday with 3.03 million viewers and his slowest night was Tuesday with 2.52 million viewers. On Wednesday evening, Bill O’Reilly gave what he called one of the most important Talking Points Memo speeches in his 19-year career on Fox News. A Fox News video shows O’Reilly begin his show by talking about Pope Francis’ visit to the White House.

“Today, Pope Francis spoke at the White House, showing a dignity and purpose that should be admired by all.”

Mr. O’Reilly then went on to quote Pope Francis talking about a society that is truly tolerant and inclusive, rejecting every form of unjust discrimination. The Pope went on to discuss tolerating religious liberty. O’Reilly thought this was a slight against Obama and all of the people who condemned Kim Davis, the county clerk who refused to give out marriage licenses to homosexuals.

Megyn Kelly continued passive aggressively bashing Donald Trump this week, a man she has been at odds with since she asked him questions about his alleged sexist past during a Fox News debate. According to transcripts from her show, Kelly gleefully announced that the latest polls showed the GOP race is changing (meaning that Trump is no longer the guaranteed winner).

“Breaking tonight, we have two national polls just out making four released so far this week and, across the board, the trend suggests we’re seeing a big change shaping up in the 2016 republican primary.”

Kelly smiled as she announced Donald Trump’s lead was declining, while Carson, Fiorina, Bush, and Rubio were all gaining strength. She noted that the Washington Post declared that Donald’s trump slip in the polls appears is real. This week, she also covered Pope Francis’ visit and continued to uncover what she thinks is the corruption of Planned Parenthood.

Megyn Kelly is facing a lot of backlash from some loyal viewers who think she is completely unprofessional in the way she is handing the Donald Trump situation. It could be affecting her ratings as well as she hasn’t been as close to Bill O’Reilly in overall numbers for the past three weeks. Do you think Megyn Kelly is hurting her career?
