Jennifer Lopez On Finally Making It, Self-Love, And Having A ‘Power Over Men’

Jennifer Lopez has been considered one of the hottest women in music, film, and dance for decades now, and the star recently admitted in an interview with that from a young age she was somewhat aware of the way men lust after her. Music News relays the words of Lopez in the exclusive interview with the publication.

” ‘Men were watching me walk by and whistling at me,’ [Jennifer] recalled, adding she was just 12 when she first noticed it. ‘That’s when I realised I had a certain power over men.’ “

Lopez, however, shares that she has never felt reliant on men in any way, and vowed to herself from her youth, after a humble upbringing, that she would make things happen herself.

“I always just wanted to prove to myself that I can do it, no one else… I never wanted to wear broken shoes again.”

And after a multitude of public and high-profile relationships, as well as breakups, along with having a number of divorces under her belt, Lopez is content with being a single woman and notes that a woman’s relationship and view of herself is of utmost importance in achieving happiness.

“Most importantly, [I’ve learned] to love myself first. As women, I don’t think we do that enough. We always love somebody else more than ourselves. I did that for a long time and I couldn’t understand why things weren’t working. Then I realised that I wasn’t valuing myself in the way that I deserved. You accept things that are less than what you want, and then you wonder why you find yourself in these situations. You think, ‘I wouldn’t treat anyone in this way so why am I being treated like this?’ “

Unfortunately, JLo has now found herself in an unpleasant situation due to one of her exes coming forward with an explicit video of the star. Jennifer’s first husband has threatened to release a sex tape of the diva and him engaged in sexual activity while on their honeymoon back in 1997.

As the Daily Beast relays, then-waiter Ojani Noa, Lopez’ first husband’s business partner, Ed Meyer, revealed to In Touch that J. Lo’s “opportunistic ex will be releasing very personal home video footage taken during the couple’s brief marriage.”

Jennifer Lopez has been haunted by Noa’s video for years now, and it has been a constant battle and point of contention between the star and her ex. So, it seems that her exes also hold a certain amount of power over her, as well, no matter how salacious and repulsive the development of that power may be caused by.
