Rich Homie Quan Apologizes For Smoking In Front Of His Son — ‘I Am Sorry For My Actions,’ Rapper Says

Rich Homie Quan apologized today for a video he posted on Snapchat which shows him smoking what looks like a blunt in front of his son, Royal, TMZ reports. Royal is just a year old.

The message was posted along with a very loving photo of himself with his son. But TMZ also reports that Quan is being investigated by Georgia authorities because of the video. Apparently Child Protective Services and Fulton County Police have seen the video and now want to speak to Rich Homie Quan and ask him a long list of questions. The first question will be, what were you smoking exactly, Quan? Also was this just a one-off event or something that regularly happens?

According to TMZ, law enforcement officials say that the investigation goes well beyond questioning Rich Homie Quan’s fitness as a parent. They could also bring criminal charges against him too. The charges could include endangering a child and reckless behavior.

Rich Homie Quan says that he will learn from his serious error in judgement, and “continue to strive to be the best parent I can be.”

Quan, born Dequantes Lamar, is a rapper from Atlanta, Georgia. According to his Wikipedia page, he started rapping soon after he left high school after tuning his back on a promising baseball scholarship. Quan started getting into trouble soon after he lost his job at an airport, which led to him serving a 15-month prison sentence for burglary.

The “Flex” rapper’s troubles with the law have continued despite his current success in the music industry. As TMZ has previously reported, Quan was involved in a fight with a security guard outside of LIV Nightclub in Miami Beach, Florida. After Quan was turned away from the entrance repeatedly, he reportedly started screaming at the bouncer before physically assaulting him and fleeing the scene in a speedboat.

Quan’s next big performance will be at the BET Hip Hop Awards, which will be held on October 13, at 9 p.m, Rolling Out reports. In addition to Rich Homie Quan, T.I., Fetty Wap, Dej Loaf, Kid Ink, Young Dro, DJ Mustard, and DJ Premier will also be performing. The show will be hosted by Snoop Dogg.

In terms of nominations, Drake is in the lead with a whopping 12 nods. Big Sean is a close second with 10 nominations, followed by Nicki Minaj who got nine. Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole both have 8 nominations each.
