NFL Expert Picks Week 3: Only One Expert Picks Saints Over Panthers
NFL expert picks for Week 3 have come in from ESPN now. One of the interesting Week 3 NFL picks has only one of the 13 analysts selecting the New Orleans Saints to beat the Carolina Panthers. ESPN.com releases weekly predictions from experts with the network, but Week 2 was a horrible representation. Marcus Allen and Mike Golic each went 4-12 in their predictions, with Ron Jaworski and Michael Kaplan at 5-11. Keith Jackson leads overall with a record of 19-13 in predictions.
For the Thursday night, September 24 game, the ESPN analysts have selected the New York Giants to beat the Washington Redskins. The Sunday night game on September 27 was a unanimous selection of the Denver Broncos over the Detroit Lions. Monday, September 28, is likewise unanimous, with the analysts going with the Green Bay Packers over the Kansas City Chiefs.
There are only two other Week 3 NFL expert picks from Sunday, and they are the Seattle Seahawks beating the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots beating the Jacksonville Jaguars. Several games have just one analyst supporting a team. Those predictions are the Arizona Cardinals beating the San Francisco 49ers, the New York Jets beating the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Carolina Panthers beating the New Orleans Saints. Seth Wikersham selected the Eagles and 49ers to win, while Mike Golic went with the Saints.
There are several games where the 13 analysts are split in a 7-6 vote. Those games have the Buffalo Bills beating the Miami Dolphins, the Minnesota Vikings beating the San Diego Chargers, the Cincinnati Bengals beating the Baltimore Ravens, and the Cleveland Browns beating the Oakland Raiders. In the rest of the Week 3 NFL schedule, the ESPN analysts go with the Atlanta Falcons beating the Dallas Cowboys, the Indianapolis Colts beating the Tennessee Titans, the Houston Texans beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Pittsburgh Steelers beating the St. Louis Rams.
A few noteworthy Week 3 predictions include the Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, Atlanta Falcons, and Arizona Cardinals improving to 3-0 on the season. That would be eight undefeated teams in the updated 2015 NFL standings, something that hasn’t happened before. As for teams falling to 0-3 on the season, the Week 3 NFL expert picks from ESPN predict that the Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, and New Orleans Saints will remain winless on the year. Maybe a stranger prediction is the Cleveland Browns improving to 2-1.
