Patrick Kane’s Rape Accusation Takes A Bizarre Turn: Claims Of ‘Evidence Tampering’ Pointing At Empty Paper Bag
Investigation into rape allegations levied against Patrick Kane took a very strange turn when the accuser’s attorney flashed a crumpled brown paper bag. He claimed it was the evidence bag which once held the woman’s rape kit, directly implying that the evidence has been tampered with.
Chicago Blackhawks star forward Patrick Kane is under investigation after a woman accused him of sexually assaulting her. Kane’s lawyers have been reportedly working up a resolution that would have “benefited all parties involved,” including the 21-year-old woman who accused him of sexual assault. However, the fresh allegations could cast doubt on a mutually favorable decision.

Apparently, the empty brown paper bag, which the attorney claimed is the police evidence bag that once contained the accuser’s rape kit, was left anonymously on her mother’s doorstep. The bag was wedged in between a storm door and her front door. The accuser’s mother noticed the bag when she returned home from work around 1:30 p.m. The attorney even offered a photograph of the incriminating evidence, which supposedly had a label with the accuser’s name as well as the initials of the nurse who performed the evidence collection at an Erie County hospital, reported MSN.

The ongoing investigation indicated that none of Patrick Kane’s DNA was found “from the waist down” on the woman, reported Fox News.
However, if the fresh allegations are true, it could indicate a breakdown in the handling of the evidence — if proven, the integrity of the investigation could be easily challenged.
There’s little doubt that Patrick Kane is a popular sports figure and enjoys a lot of local support. The support was quite evident from the loud cheers he was welcomed with when he took the ice at the start of the three-day camp and again Tuesday night at the team’s preseason opener. Patrick Kane has not only been welcomed with open arms by his team, but the NHL also backed the team’s decision, said NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly.
“I don’t think today’s developments really have any direct impact on Kane’s status from the league’s standpoint.”
Patrick Kane had spent the night of August 1 at a popular nightclub in downtown Buffalo. He is said to have left the bar with the accuser, another woman, and a male friend.
