Ghost Hunters Debby And Mark Constantino Found Dead After A Siege In Nevada

A pair of ghost hunters are dead after a standoff with police lasted for hours yesterday in Nevada. According to reports, the couple were Mark and Debby Constantino, best known for their many appearances on Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures.

According to the AP report on Newser, the ghost hunters were found barricaded into a Sparks apartment. This apartment is believed to belong to the Constantino’s adult daughter and is located near the Sparks High School. A SWAT team made the gruesome discovery after responding to a hostage situation at that location on Tuesday. The stand-off reportedly lasted for hours before the SWAT team stormed the apartment and found the ghost hunters.

While no cause of death has been issued yet, a statement sent to the Associated Press by Sparks police Lt. Rocky Triplett, states that “the subjects involved in this incident were not shot at or injured by gunfire from any law enforcement personnel.”

Investigations are still continuing, but, according to Nola, Reno police had stated the ghost hunters were not the only bodies located in the area. The homicide of a man was being investigated earlier before the situation worsened. Nola reports that ghost hunter, Mark Constantino “fired at officers who approached the apartment door.” Lt. Rocky Triplett reiterated that police did not fire back when Constantino fired at them.

Deputy Chief Tom Robinson of the Reno Police Department told the Reno Gazette-Journal that when officers first arrived at the standoff, Mark Constantino reportedly told officers “give me 15 minutes to gather my thoughts or I’ll kill her,” when police knocked on the door. Negotiations ensued with the ghost hunters, but after discussions broke down, officers used explosives to enter the premises. This is when the two bodies of the ghost hunters were located.

According to AP, “Washoe District Court records show Debby Constantino obtained a restraining order that was served on her estranged husband last week and the two were scheduled to appear in court in December regarding their pending divorce.” As yet, it is too early to speculate on whether this event had anything to do leading up to the ghost hunters deaths. However, Reno Police Lt. William Rulla, did state that Debby was “previously a victim in a kidnapping and domestic incident with her husband.”

However, new reports are stating that the original homicide was located at an apartment tenanted by one of the ghost hunters, Debby. At that initial stage, Debby was reported as missing as Mark Constantino was listed as a suspect in the homicide. According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, officers at the initial homicide tracked Debby’s cellphone to her location in Mark’s apartment in Sparks after Debby’s room mate reported her missing.

This case in ongoing. Debby and Mark Constantino lectured on paranormal events and ghost hunting across the country as well as maintaining their website, Spirit Speak.
