Did ‘The Walking Dead’s’ Carl Grimes Cameo On ‘Fear The Walking Dead’?

Fear the Walking Dead has made a rather inauspicious start to its tenure on AMC, especially in comparison to its predecessor The Walking Dead.

This struggle might have convinced those in control of the shows to consider a crossover. In fact, during the airing of the show’s fourth episode on Sunday, entitled “Not Fade Away,” fans of the show thought that they’d spotted Carl Grimes.

Fans were so convinced that they seen Chandler Riggs’ character around the three-minute mark of the episode that they began inundating the world wide web with tweets and images of the character, who was spotted in the distance of the screen. You can check out some of these posts below.

However, this supposed cameo has since been dismissed, with Comic Book’s sources confirming that Chandler Riggs didn’t film a cameo as Carl in Fear the Walking Dead.

Which makes sense because why would Carl have been in Los Angeles, where Fear the Walking Dead is set, rather than in Georgia. Not only did he have school to attend to, but let’s not forget that his father, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), was in a coma at the time too.

Plus, having Chandler Riggs film a cameo for Fear the Walking Dead now would have been rather stupid because the actor looks much older than he did at the start of The Walking Dead. Fear the Walking Dead is set at the start of the outbreak that began in the first season of The Walking Dead.

Fear the Walking Dead only has two episodes left in its first season, and having premiered to the rather impressive viewing figures of 10.13 million viewers, it has continued to lose around a million viewers an episode. Meanwhile, its reviews have been rather muted in comparison to the first season of The Walking Dead.
