‘Bioshock Collection’ Release Date ‘Leaked’ For PlayStation 4 And Xbox One?

The Bioshock Collection release date may have been leaked for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This leak came from a retailer which had accidentally posted the page for pre-orders.

In the image revealing 2K’s most innovative efforts on the previous generation remastered for the current consoles, it was said to be “expected” later this year. November 27, 2015 was the date listed, but it hasn’t been confirmed by 2K whether this was true or not.

Until it’s confirmed, it’s usually just a rumor based on what may have been a slip made by an insider. A similar slip on PSN caused the tentative release date for Batman: Arkham Knight to be revealed too early, as previously reported by the Inquisitr. The date given proved to be a placeholder, as the game had suffered two delays, one being less than a month.

Tech Times reports that if indeed the Bioshock Collection release date is nearing for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it is unclear which games will be included. Speculation would suggest remastered versions of Bioshock, Bioshock 2, and Bioshock Infinite, possibly with all related DLC. No one will know until 2K decides to reveal it themselves.

The publisher could also be trying to keep it quiet, much like Activision did with their Prototype Biohazard Bundle, which included subtly upgraded versions of both games. The release wasn’t even given much hype, which was surprising considering that Activision charged $50 for the two games. PC gamers have been able to pick up both games for maybe half that price for years, making the Biohazard Bundle something that only diehard fans of the series might put the money into.

Unlike Prototype, though, Bioshock has retained its value with fans and is more widely anticipated.

While the Bioshock Collection release date was leaked by South African gaming retailer Raru, it’s unknown how much truth there is to the game’s existence beyond a screen grab taken before the page was removed.

IGN attempted to get official confirmation on the series’ remastered release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but a 2K representative replied with the usual “2K doesn’t respond to [rumors] or speculation.”

If released, we can probably expect updated visuals and a reasonable bundle price, including the main games and their story DLC such as Burial at Sea. The lack of a price on the leaked screen grab might indicate that 2K is only considering a Bioshock Collection release date for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and hasn’t decided on what to charge for it.
