Sandra Lee Attends Emmys, Speaks Out, And Announces New Website

Food Network star Sandra Lee was looking absolutely radiant at the Emmys on Sunday night. This was Lee’s first time stepping out in public since having a double mastectomy in May, but she held nothing back, wearing a low-plunging, elegant pink dress and looking as beautiful as ever. She was recently hospitalized due to complications from the double mastectomy, but appears to be doing much better now.

Sandra continued to make strides forward this week, speaking publicly about her battle with breast cancer and what she’s been up to over the last few months. Taking to Facebook, she apologized to fans for staying silent since first announcing her condition in May, but said that she “needed a minute.”

Lee also said that she would be keeping followers posted with updates in the future, and that she would like fans to join her and “go into Fall stronger, wiser, better, and forever together.” Sandra Lee is 49-years-old and is now cancer-free.

Regarding her surgery and the complications that came after it, she told Entertainment Tonight, “I would make that decision again… and I just want to move on with my life”

Well, it seems that moving on is exactly what Lee intends to do. At the end of her heartfelt Facebook post, she talked about a creative project that had provided a bit of an escape during her battle with cancer. Her new website, which she described as a “creative outlet that allowed me out of my head and that lightened my heart,” is now complete, and she seems to be very proud of it.

Quite a variety can be found on the site, www.SandraLee.com, such as recipes, of course, home and garden tips, beauty and fashion, Sandra’s personal blog, and more. She promised that the website would be added to frequently by team members and also by herself and said that plenty of good stuff pertaining to parties and entertainment would be included, in light of the upcoming holiday season.

In addition to this, Lee said that she has a few other exciting surprises planned but didn’t give too much away in regards to those. Of course, the Food Network star made sure to thank her boyfriend, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, for all of his support. Lee also revealed to Entertainment Tonight that just before her surgery, Cuomo told her that he loved her and would be there when it was all over.

All in all, Sandra seems to be doing very well, undoubtedly due to the support of her fans and boyfriend, as well as her own impressive inner strength. Lee will be sitting down with Robin Roberts sometime next week, and there is sure to be more positive news at that time.
