Brother Of TNA Wrestler Kurt Angle Arrested And Charged With Murder

Of all the trials and tribulations in Kurt Angle’s personal life over the course of the past several years, the TNA wrestler might be headed for the most trying phase of his life thus far. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Angle’s older brother, David Angle, has been arrested and charged with homicide after police found his wife dead in their home earlier today. The paper reports that Angle, 62, is currently in the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh awaiting arraignment.

According to the Post-Gazette, police and paramedics were dispatched to the Dormont home of David Angle and his wife shortly before 6:30 a.m. this morning on the report of a domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival, they found David’s 57-year-old wife Donna “unresponsive on the floor of the living room.” She was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead at 7:13 a.m.

David Angle has reportedly made a statement to police indicating that he had an disagreement with his wife over her drinking last night. He also noted that the couple has a history of issues surrounding alcohol use. Pittsburgh television station WPXI reports that Angle said the argument began around 3:00 a.m. According to police, David Angle has admitted that the altercation turned physical, indicating that at one point he “grabbed both of her arms, pulled her off the couch, put his foot on her chest and pulled” for an unspecified period of time.

Kurt Angle, who has been the subject of many recent rumors that he will be returning to WWE sometime in the near future, has experienced his own problems with substance abuse and legal issues in the past. The former Olympian and professional wrestling legend has been arrested for driving under the influence four times between 2007 and 2013 and in two of those instances, he was convicted for related offenses. He was also arrested for stalking and drug possession in 2009, but those charges were later dropped. Angle has acknowledged struggling with substance abuse issues.

Earlier this summer, Kurt Angle was rushed into emergency surgery for a life-threatening condition following complications from neck surgery. He is scheduled to return to in-ring competition at TNA’s Bound For Glory event in October.

Kurt Angle released a statement through his manager, Dave Hawk, in which he acknowledged that he is the brother of David Angle. Through Hawk, Kurt Angle requested privacy for himself and for his family.
