Michael Fassbender Single? Actor, Alicia Vikander Split After 9 Months

Actor Michael Fassbender is reportedly back on the market!

Us Weekly reports that the Steve Jobs actor broke up with his girlfriend, actress Alicia Vikander, after spending nine months together.

According to the report, Fassbender first met Vikander on the set of their film The Light Between Oceans and dated long after the film wrapped.

The 38-year-old actor and 26-year-old actress were last photographed together in May when they attended the Formula One Grand Prix in Monaco.

His relationship with Alicia Vikander added another name to the list of movie co-stars that Michael Fassbender dated in real life. Between 2010 and 2013, Michael dated two former co-stars — Zoe Kravitz (X-Men: First Class) and Nicole Beharie (Shame). Even though Fassbender allegedly pursued the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet on the X-Men set.

However, according to a June, 2012, interview with GQ Fassbender explained the issues with dating co-stars.

“I’m seeing Nicole, we’re trying to see each other as often as possible. That’s kind of difficult when she lives [in New York] and I live in England… Nothing happened while we were filming. We started talking more on the promotion thing. So, yeah, it just sort of unfolded like that.”

When it comes to his history of short-lived relationships, Michael Fassbender apparently claims that his work schedule has a lot to do with it. In a November, 2013, issue of GQ, Fassbender stated that his own personal commitment to his acting calls for working long hours.

“I’m kind of selfish with the hours that I put into the work. I think the longest relationship that I’ve been in was two years… I started doing this when I was 17, so I guess in my dating, adult life, that kind of covers it.”

Quite a few of his fans on Twitter made it clear that they are happy about the fact that Michael Fassbender is single once again.

Chances are that Michael Fassbender has his hands full with his work schedule right now as well — especially with promoting his leading role in the Steve Jobs biopic and filming the Assassin’s Creed movie adaptation.
