Ashley Graham Takes Social Media By Storm With #IAmSizeSexy And #PlusIsEqual Campaigns

Ashley Graham is taking social media by storm this week. The plus-size model made her debut at New York Fashion week in a major way.

Ashley Graham set the runway on fire on Tuesday night, when she walked out in lacy and sheer lingerie. The plus-size model, who is a size 16, wore a variety of matching bra and panty sets and negligees at the Addition Elle runway show. Graham was also joined by other plus-size models who also showed off their curves in sexy lingerie on the runway.

After the show, the model took to Instagram to exclaim her excitement. Ashley shared a photo of herself walking the show with the caption: “What an amazing experience!!! All the girls looked amazing!! I hope you were able to watch the show live on @additionelle’s Periscope!! Thank you to everyone who was involved behind stage as well!! We rocked it!!! #IAmSizeSexy”

The runway show was broadcasted live on Periscope and the accompanying hashtag #IAmSizeSexy went viral across the world. Some have taken to social media to sing their praises for Ashley Graham and her squad of sexy plus-size models.

Graham is also making waves on social media with another important ad campaign for Lane Bryant. The body confident activist is also the face for the brand’s “I’m No Angel” lingerie campaign, which was a direct response to Victoria’s Secret’s “Perfect Body” ad campaign. Now she’s helping launch the #PlusIsEqual campaign with the retail store.

According to Lane Bryant’s Plus Is Equal website, the ad campaign is more than just a new fashion collection. It’s a social media movement that was inspired by a recent survey which revealed that 67 percent of U.S. women range in size 14 to 34, but they feel that they’re underrepresented in the media.

The first ad campaign was featured in the September 2015 issue of Vogue with the #PlusIsEqual and cryptic message, “It’s time for a change. Be part of it.”

The double page ad didn’t give any more details. The mystery behind the social media campaign was revealed at NYFW when Lane Bryant officially launched their #PlusIsEqual campaign featuring Ashley Graham. Other models in the campaign include Candice Huffine, Georgia Pratt, Justine Legault, Precious Lee, and Sabina Karlsson.

All of the big and beautiful women joined Lane Bryant CEO Linda Heasley on stage at the fashion event. Fashion Week wasn’t just about the new beauty and fashion trends. It was also about making the event more body positive.

Ashley Graham has become famous for modeling sexy lingerie despite having a curvaceous plus-size figure. She’s previously spoken to the Huffington Post about the #PlusIsEqual campaign.

“Everyone deserves to see themselves being represented equally… #PlusIsEqual is showing that curvy women are accepted, they’re represented and being made a priority in the fashion industry. We definitely still have more progress to make, but campaigns like this and #IAmSizeSexy are raising awareness for body diversity and continuing these great conversations. I’m thankful to be a part of such an impactful movement.”
