Kanye West’s Community Service Receives Praise As He Pulls A Kanye At Fashion Week

Kanye West has already been receiving a lot of backlash at New York Fashion Week. But that hasn’t stopped the rapper from finishing his court-ordered community service. In fact, Kanye has received glowing praise for performing extra hours of community service.

Kanye West, 38, was ordered to complete 240 hours of community service at the Los Angeles Trade Technical College for his paparazzi battery case, according to a TMZ report. West allegedly attacked photographer Daniel Ramos and damaged his camera outside LAX airport back in July 2013.

The controversial rapper made sure to do well on his community service. Kanye received a wonderful report from the college’s own Dean during a court hearing that was scheduled on Tuesday, September 15. During the hearing, it was revealed that Kanye completed a total of 262 hours by teaching fashion design students.

Blair Berk was in court on Tuesday morning on West’s behalf, as he prepared for New York Fashion Week. He presented a letter to the judge from the Dean, which read the following below.

“The contribution of the hands-on community service Mr. West has completed with our school has been of great benefit to our students and program.”

The rapper even made a surprise visit to the students in May. West gave an inspirational speech to the graduates at their commencement ceremony.

Kanye’s still on informal probation, but as long as he stays out of trouble, then he will be in the clear, according to reports. He was originally charged with a misdemeanor battery, but was later placed on two years probation. Kanye was also ordered to take anger management classes after striking a plea deal in March 2014 following the attack.

The outspoken rapper may have gotten on the good side of the Dean, but he’s on the bad side of many fashion designers at Fashion Week. West angered designers when he planned his fashion show at the very last minute.

Kanye managed to pull a Kanye when he added a last-minute show to the already booked Fashion Calendar, without informing designers or the Council of Fashion Designers of America Fashion Calendar. He wanted to present his new Kanye West X Adidas Originals Collection that very day. Anne Bowen revealed to the Women’s Wear Daily that West’s bold move caused her to reschedule her show, Nomad VII by Anne Bowen, to another day.

“Kanye knows he is a media sensation and it is just not ethical to do this. It’s like we are David and he is Goliath. We have put our heart and soul into our show, and should not be stepped on like this.”

Bowen revealed that she moved to her show to Thursday and has already placed a complain to the CFDA’s Fashion Calendar. Another designer by the name of Naeem Khan says that he plans to show his evening wear collection during West’s show and told WWD that he’s not concerned about the scheduling conflict.

“I am confident that the fans of the brand and those in the industry who truly appreciate the art of design and craftsmanship will come out to support us. I am thrilled with the new collection and we are looking forward to a great show.”

Rumors are also swirling that Kanye West plans to ban any of the models who choose to gossip about him or the Kardashian-Jenner clan. According to a report via The Mirror, the dreamy designer made the models sign a non-disclosure agreement, who could face a $10 million lawsuit if they talk about West, Kim Kardashian, or any of the Kardashian-Jenner clan for that matter.

“Kanye’s hacked off some really high-profile models by asking them to sign the agreement, particularly because it stated that he could sue them for up to $10million if they spoke out about him. It’s a ridiculous amount and some models flat out refused.”

“He’s not considered a great talent – everyone knows his show is just a media frenzy, so some girls would rather not be associated with him. The document is ridiculous and totally over the top – but that’s just Kanye.”

It’s obvious that Kanye’s trying to do good in some areas in his life, like by following through with his community service and befriending Taylor Swift. He even sent her flowers after his rant at the 2015 MTV VMAs. But it looks like he has some work to do when it comes to interrupting others, especially during the most important moments of other people’s lives. It’s not always about you, Kanye!
