Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt Reportedly Express Concerns About Shiloh’s Gender Identity, Consult Transgender Specialist [Report]

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have always been supportive of their child Shiloh’s decision to identify as a boy. As previously reported on Inquisitr, the couple made headlines last year for their decision to support Shiloh’s desire to be called “John.” During a 2008 interview with Oprah, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt shared details about Shiloh and her decision to identify as a boy.

“She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers,” Jolie said during the interview. Although they still support their child, recent reports suggest that the couple are now expressing concerns about Shiloh’s gender identity.

According to InTouch Weekly, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reportedly consulted a transgender expert to learn more about their child’s “gender dysmorphia.” Apparently, they aren’t totally convinced that Shiloh really wants to be a boy. So, they are seeking the help of a transgender expert to confirm whether Shiloh isn’t just displaying characteristics normally associated with being a tomboy.

Since she spends a substantial amount of time with her older brothers, Maddox, 14, and Pax, 11, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt just want to ensure her desire to wear pantsuits isn’t due to the influence of her siblings.

According to Radar Online, an inside source recently shared brief details about their reported consultation and what they desire for Shiloh. It has also been noted that although Angelina and Brad support her decision to be called “John,” they don’t definitively refer to their child as a “transgender.”

“Brad and Angelina were only coming from a place of love and only wanting the best for Shiloh,” the source explained. “They want Shiloh to feel loved and secure. Brad was told Shiloh would have gravitated towards dressing as a boy, and being called John, even if [their] siblings were all girls. It’s just the way Shiloh is.”

The source went on explain how Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt only want the best for their child, which is why they’ve sought the help of an expert. Their goal is to be well informed in order to provide a healthy environment where their child feels comfortable.

“Shiloh could be a tomboy and as a teenager could become the most girly girl,” the source said. “There are no concrete answers. Brad and Angelina are committed to giving Shiloh a loving family environment.”

Although the reports about the consultation have yet to be confirmed, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are still being lauded as some of the coolest parents in Hollywood for supporting their child.
