Ariana Grande Addresses ‘Donutgate,’ Announces New Single Coming ‘This Week’

Ariana Grande made an appearance on Good Morning America on Tuesday morning to address that “Donutgate” scandal and to make a special announcement.

The “Break Free” singer showed off a slightly new look on the daytime talk show. Grande debuted her new half up, half down hairstyle. She also wore a sexy blue, black, and white A-line dress with black sky-high pumps.

Ariana Grande, 22, has received her share of scrutiny for her “Donutgate” scandal that took over the Fourth of July weekend. It seems a year ago, but the scandal actually took place earlier this summer. Grande was captured on video licking donuts and making anti-American comments.

Ari tried to do good by releasing several statements, including one video apology on YouTube. Grande addressed the donut-licking scandal during her special appearance on Good Morning America. She said that she has learned from the controversy, which almost cost her a lucrative career.

“I think one of the biggest things I learned from that was what it feels like to disappoint so many people who love and believe in you. And that’s an excruciating feeling.”

Ariana also revealed that since she’s in the spotlight, she has to realize that her words and actions have an effect on the public, especially her fans.

“You have to remember that your words, your actions, you know, ramifications and you have to really think about what you’re about to say and do because it’s important. It’s important to so many people.”

It was the first time that Ariana Grande has apologized on live television for her donut fiasco.

“My behavior was very offensive and I apologized. There’s no excuse or there’s nothing to justify it. I think that as human beings we all say and do things we don’t mean at all sometimes and we have to learn from it, I mean, it’s part of our business. We have to learn from our mistakes and that’s how we grow.”

Ariana Grande moved on from the scandal by getting into the fragrance industry. She talked about her debut fragrance, ARI by Ariana Grande, that’s “sweet” and sugary, just like her.

“It’s really sweet, you know, there’s a little bit of marshmallow, a little bit of raspberry. I’m fairly new to the fragrance industry, I guess, but it is kind of like making a song.”

Speaking of new music, when is it coming? Ariana has been teasing her fans about new music coming their way. She even may have hinted on Twitter that her debut single from her Moonlight album may debut in October. Towards the end of the interview, Ari said that she’s going to announce her new single soon, “like this week soon.”
